*Malefica enters the stage, dressed in a white silk gown who reveals her tiny virgin body. The music starts to play, and Malefica closes her eyes and concentrates, giving her heart and soul to the music. She starts singing, and her beautiful soprano voice fills the room.*
Maria's Homage from Which Witch
Mi pizzichi, mi stuzzichi, mi pungichi, mi mastichi, mi pungichi.

*Robert looked up from his notes, it was the girl from earlier. He called out to her.*
"Did you manage to get a part Miss?"

*Malefica blushed when she recognized the handsome man from the audition.*
"I don't know, Monsieur." *she replied. "I didn't see the managers around when I was there."

*Robert frowned.*
"How strange, well I an sure you will be in the Opera Miss Malefica."
*He looked around the stage and shuddered.*
"Though I could never perform like this."

*She nodded, deeply agreed with him.*
"You think so, Monsieur? It is kind of you to say so!" *she replied with blushing cheekbones and smiled, showing her lovely white teeth.*
"The last time we met, you told me you were an author?"

*Robert nodded.*
"Well, a poet really. The Opera hired me to look over the libretto."

*Malefica looked at him with admiration in her eyes. She had always had a thing for artists.*
"Could you read me something you have written?" *she asks shyly, looking at him with her beautiful, innocent doe-eyes.*

*Robert swallowed.*
"I suppose."
*He took a deep breath.*
"To Earthward
Love at the lips was touch As sweet as I could bear; And once that seemed too much; I lived on air
That crossed me from sweet things, The flow of - was it musk From hidden grapevine springs Down hill at dusk?
I had the swirl and ache From sprays of honeysuckle That when they're gathered shake Dew on the knuckle.
I craved strong sweets, but those Seemed strong when I was young; The petal of the rose It was that stung.
Now no joy but lacks salt That is not dashed with pain And weariness and fault; I crave the stain
Of tears, the aftermark Of almost too much love, The sweet of bitter bark And burning clove.
When stiff and sore and scarred I take away my hand From leaning on it hard In grass and sand,
The hurt is not enough: I long for weight and strength To feel the earth as rough To all my length"

*Malefica listened to the beautiful poem. Deeply touched by its beauty she looks at him, with tears in her lovely doe-eyes.*
"Thank you, monsieur. Opera Populaire has finally found its long needed writer. I hope, if I get a job as a singer that I one day will have the honor of singing one of your parts."

*Malefica came closer, sitting down beside him.*
"As I said, my name is Malefica. I am of mixed origin... , but my father lives in Greece, where I am a princess. I will never become a queen, though."
(she didn't want to scare him off by telling him she was the daughter of Zeus and Queen Lilith of Hell. She was also unsure if it was wise to tell him about her being a witch.)

"Rude? Oh no, not at all!"
*She become serious and looked him in the eyes, blushing*

*Suddenly a thought occured to him.*
"Perhaps, I do not know if you could tell me, do you know of somewhere that I could find lodging ...Malefica?

*Malefica smiled.*
"I live here in the opera house. As I want to become a singer I don't have to travel so far to work. We have the rooms in the Dormitories, where I live. And then there are a lot of hotels, pubs and inns here in Paris. Where would you prefer to stay, Monsieur?"
