A few weeks ago, Megan had made a passing reference at work to "when I was visiting Karnak". After this was investigated and found out to be true, her boss somehow got the idea that she was good at schmoozing English-speaking billionaires and assigned her to talk to...
Lex Luthor.
Megan had stared, and repeated the name to make sure she'd heard correctly, and she had.
Well, lovely. Everything was just coming up rich weirdos with supersuits lately, wasn't it?
This was why a Megan in a small hat with a veil and what she hoped was a classy dress was now ascending in the elevator of the Paris branch of LexCorp to speak to the CEO, and feeling rather apprehensive. About halfway up, she realized that sending someone from a world where Luthor was fictional- and therefore, everything he'd done was common knowledge, as was his archenemy's human identity and friends- was a really bad idea.
If Luthor could read her mind or anything, a whole lot of people would be screwed.

Lex was in his office, of course, staring over a stack of paperwork, he had asked his useless secretary to finish, to which she swore it was something she couldn't take care of. The paperwork had to do with some undeveloped land outside of Paris that he had recently purchased and all ready slated for a set of apartments.
All ready angry as it was, he had been informed the day before, that another person from the newspaper was there to talk to him.
He wasn't in the mood for whatever she had to say, so he planned on making the interview quick and painless for both of them, by basically not commenting on anything.

Megan entered the room slowly, clearly intimidated.
"Mr. Luthor, sir...?"

Looking up from his desk he waved her over "Ms. Elness I presume?"

"Yeah- I mean, yes. Sir."
Veidt had been intimidating enough. At least she wasn't terrified of Veidt.

Keeping his eyes locked in to hers, he smiled, she was simply, adorable.
He hadn't had enough time, the day he was informed she was coming, to do too much research on her. From what he could tell however, she lived with an older man, whom somehow knew one of his biggest competitors and all around do-gooder, Adrian Veidt.
He had run out of time to find if she had ever met Veidt, which would make her obviously valuable.
But as he didn't know, he'd stick to his original plan, no comment.
"No need to call me sir, Mr. Luthor will be fine" he smiled and nodded her toward the seat.

"Th- thank you, s- Mr. Luthor."
She sat down.
"I-'m not sure why they gave me this assignment, to be honest. I'm not even a reporter, I'm a typist."

He smiled "Well one of your colleagues, a Mr. Kent was here a week or so ago, I wonder what more information the paper needs, especially if they've sent, and no offense, a typist in place of a proper reporter."
He had meant the words to be rude, but the smile on his face, assured you that he was just asking a question.

Kent?
Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
"I'm afraid I don't know him, Mr. Luthor, but he must be busy."

"I'm sure" he nodded, leaning back in his chair "so Ms. Elness, what is it that you need to know?"

"I was sent here for a general interest piece about what you're doing here and such. Standard, really."
She slipped her bag off of her shoulders and pulled out a recorder.
"And, of course, what brings you to Paris."

"Ah, yes, Mr. Kent's questions were a bit more... broad of course" he crossed his right leg over his left and set his hands down on his knee. Looking up from her eyes for a moment he sighed "What I'm doing in Paris, is obvious to all city planners in the city. I'm here to help Paris expand it's available living space, and came here to oversee all aspects of the building process."

"And have you bothered asking the French about that at all, Mr. Luthor?" Megan said, without thinking.
She realized what she was saying, and inside of her something winced, but too much of her was a little thrilled by skipping to the good part. Haha, pwned!
"After all... your chief colleagues in the business world... Tony Stark is only here for pleasure, Bruce Wayne's chief interests lie in philanthropy, and Adrian Veidt has taken up an existing suite of buildings that fit into pre-developed parts of Paris without disturbing the established aesthetic of the city, whereas you're apparently trying to impose the... well, it's not very Parisian, Mr. Luthor."

"Yet my buildings fit in with Paris aesthetic, if not my office, if you haven't noticed. Now tell me, how does low cost housing, and better built buildings hurt a town, running out of room for it's people? As for my colleagues Miss, what they do with their time here is none of my concern. I'll have you remember I am an American, not a Parisian, I am here only to help this city, then I am returning home to Metropolis."
He sat back, still smiling, even through her little spiel "Now, if you are done accusing me of taking advantage of a city still recovering from an ill planned revolution, I have a few questions for you. You're relationship with Daniel Dreiberg, a close friend to Adrian Veidt, wouldn't have be the reason for the paper sending you here would it?"

"Why Paris, Mr. Luthor," Megan insisted, "when New York is falling apart?"
