Jay slowly eased her to the ground, afraid that she may fall there anyway.

She stared down at her hands, hands that would never again call upon the energies of the weave.
"I guess I have to use brute strength." She said ruefully, trying to imagine her skinny noodle arms being able to do any kind of damage, even with a sword.

"But I have to. That's what I've been training for," she murmured.
"Because I'm the only one who can wield the sword that can kill the beast," she added, to head off any protests about why it had to be her.
Not that she liked this fact. The prospect of fighting a dragon, even with magic, had been a scary one.

"Yeah," she said, hugging him and squeezing just a bit.
"Sometimes I miss home just because, back home, when you woke up in the morning there was a 99.9% chance that nothing epic, dramatic, action-y, fantastic or otherwise cinematic was going to happen. Sometimes, I just miss the normal."

Back in the car--no questions asked from the cabbie, thankfully--they started on their way back to the motel. With a sigh, Sarah sank back into the car seat.
"Well, at least I'm back in a madness that makes sense to me."
