Amras stood back a ways "It is all right John, our country is still mostly ignored by the world congress" he looked at Laszlo "there are many of us living amongst you, only I am afraid they have cut their ears to better fit in."

"LORIEN?"
He leaned back against the doorway, trying very hard not to slide down the wall to the floor. Yes, indeed, he was feeling dizzy.
"Oh, god, this is too much...first vampires and then werewolves and psychics and..."
He was panting.
"Lord of the Rings is just a series of novels!" He cried, shaking his head.

John grabbed Laszlo around the waist holding him up "Come on, come on shhh" he whispered "things were weird here, we all know that, this place isn't normal" he shh'd again.

Amras had never seen a reaction quite like this, he'd seen anger and a little disbelief, but nothing like this.
He stepped back again, against the shadows, his first day back wasn't exactly what he imagined.

László turned and held onto John, burying his face in his neck, as though he could just shut it all out. He heaved a deep breath, trying to calm down.
"I'm sorry...I know that...I just...those other things were that in general! Lorien is really specific! You can't tell me you've never heard of Tolkien!"

John nodded "Yes, the Lord of the Rings, Amras has read it too" he held on to Laszlo tighter "it's quite odd that it exists, but we have a feeling that Mr. Tolkien might have known about the country whilst writing his books, and from what we can tell, elves are the only coincidences."

He straightened up a bit, but didn't let go of John.
"I...my country's nothing like Paris...not...the, uh, strangeness. I didn't mean to freak out, it's just, you don't expect something from fiction to be real. Ever."

John understood, he'd met his favorite character from a childhood book about two years prior.
A mouse, with a motorcycle named Ralph.
"It's always an odd thing, I will admit when I first met Amras and he told me of his country I was... a little more then confused, I in fact passed out." He smiled and looked down at Laszlo.

Amras face contorted as John hurried over to hold the other man.
His fears, at that moment, were solidified.
John, most definitely cared for this man, more than he'd ever admit.
"I apologize for all of this, it was a mistake for me to come."

He finally stepped away from John, contrite and extremely embarrassed.
"I'm so sorry. I...made a fool of myself and I probably made everyone uncomfortable. I meant no offense."

John pouted "No, no of course not" he looked over at Amras "of course not."

"No" his face was flat for a moment, before he looked up at John "no you have not, I have encountered more violent reactions to me, that is for sure, I have been stabbed twice due to this."

He paled.
"Stabbed? But...but that's not right..."
Maybe if Amras had been a vampire or something, that might make sense...but an elf?

John nodded solemnly "People react extremely to things they don't understand" he looked toward Amras with a sigh "Amras has traveled to places we can only dream of and sometimes these people know of elves, sometimes, they hate them."
He blinked "I apologize for simply believing that you would have all ready known."

Amras chuckled softly "Quite so, and I am not exactly much of a fighter."
