"About a month ago, your handwriting started getting a little different and her letters completely stopped coming, although her's had been few and far apart anyway. She has been on a lot of missions lately yes?"

Amras nodded "Yes, they send her on mission after mission and I never see her anyway. When she came back from the last one, she was hurt quite badly, and in a coma for a short time. Leetah was able to pull her back, but she has changed, and as for me-."
He sighed "My whole life I've never been attracted to women, and when she came along and fell in love with me, unlike the other ladies I've known. I felt, an obligation to love her back. Because, unlike the other ladies, she was an elven woman, alone in the same world I so desperately wanted to understand. She'd been hurt by so many others, I felt, I had to make it right, I had to love her, so she wouldn't be alone anymore."
"Only I could not fully convince my heart."

John nodded, listening carefully, feeling once again extremely guilty about their relationship.
It wasn't as if he didn't care for Amras, in truth, he probably still loved him.
He was just I can't.
"I understand."

((If you're sure it's all right...))
László had been in his room when the small commotion had happened downstairs, but he hadn't come out when hearing the greetings--it wasn't anything to do with him, and besides, John's personal life was none of his business. Still, he couldn't quite resist opening his door just a bit and trying to sneak a glance. He was a bit curious about Amras.
Not seeing either of them (he'd waited too long), László walked past the room the two were speaking in, feigning disinterest. He wasn't normally so nosy, but he rarely had occasion to be so bored and thus it led him to this. He flinched a bit at his loud footsteps. Heavy boots were not made for stealth.

John looked up from his chair and out the door "Laszlo!" He grinned "Come here, I want you to meet my friend, this is Amras."

He actually froze when John called out to him, then quickly recovered and plastered a smile on his face, trying to hide the moment of panic.
"Oh, yeah...Amras. I thought I heard something going on out here..." He said quickly.

Amras looked up with a smile, stood up and bowed "It's good to meet you Laszlo, John has told me a bit about you."
((Don't forget he's 6'5"))

(( )) "Uh...hi." He said, a bit caught off-guard by the man's height. László, at 6'2" was considered plenty tall, but this guy... It was the first time since he was a kid that he felt as though he were being towered over. "He...has?" He asked, wondering what John had said.

((He's a huge fucking elven man))
He nodded "He's been quite vague however, but John has and always will be one for not spreading someones personal life." He looked over at John who was in fact looking at Laszlo and blinked, the look on his face was a familiar one.
One he had prayed so many times he'd give back to him.

John nodded "Laszlo is a good friend" he looked up at Amras who seemed almost to be staring down in to him, he blinked "everyone needs help every once in a while."

He glanced from one to the other, sensing more than seeing something pass between them.
"There's not a lot to say, anyway. I'm not very interesting."
Amras had odd...wait...pointed ears?
It was László's turn to blink.

Amras caught the blink and touched his right ear "John you did not tell him."

John blushed "Oh, oh my I guess I didn't, uh Laszlo. Amras is an elf."

László blinked again, not quite sure he'd heard that right.
"Ah...right. Of course."
But, there was no mistaking the distinctive hallmark that were the ears. Suddenly, he felt very dizzy at just all that that implied.

John stood up "Are you okay? I mean, I figured by this time everyone would have heard of Lorien..."
