"But...elves aren't the same as werewolves or vampires. You don't expect elves to bit your face off or something."
He sighed, raking his fingers through his hair.
"My homeland, I think you'd find, is very mundane compared to the rest of the world, or that's what it seems like."

Amras tilted his head to the side "And where might that be, I may have heard of it."
((He probably has, I've had him everywhere.))

"Sötétfällt. Trust me, there's nothing like vampires or elves or whatever there."
((He's from a country I made up and...there are no elves there. *thpthpthp*
...Well, that and I'm going with the reason why nobody has ever heard of it is that Sötétfällt doesn't exist in the Sueniverse's, er, universe--László is time and space-warped like a lot of folks))

((You know... you told me that, and I forgot so hard.))
John shrugged "I've never heard of it."

Amras thought for a moment "I am afraid that I too have not heard of it" he shrugged "but then again, the way this world works, for all I know, you are not even from here."

He wasn't sure what Amras meant, and did not ask as he had had enough brainasplosion for the evening.
"We're just drearily mundane, I guess." He said, smiling a little.

Amras realized that his statement would probably just fly over the boys head, of course, the way he reacted to elves, it makes sense that he wouldn't know.
"There is nothing wrong with mundane, in my existence, it is all I have strived for."

László twirled a lock of his hair around his fingers.
"You won't hear me complain," he said softly. "I've only ever wanted a normal life."

"Well you will find one here" he smiled "or as long as you are staying around John, as long as I have known him, he has never been the adventurous type."

"I dunno...I think he might have an adventurous streak in him." He said, giving a John a wink.

John looked up the moment Laszlo blinked and smiled, a dark rouge blush coming to his cheeks "I'm getting far too old for such talk."

Amras looked back at John and caught a small gasp in his throat.
"Yes, maybe, but an English carpenter who's life is lived entirely for the sake of others, I'm afraid" he smiled "adventure is the last thing on his mind. And no matter what you say John Bristow, you'll never match me in age. Your hair might have a twinge of grey, but your mind and body still match that of this young man."

He sighed and shook his head at John.
"Y'know, I don't think anyone will be able to convince him that he's not old, Amras. Even though it's true."
He stuck his tongue out at his friend.

John chuckled and repeated the gesture before standing up "Amras you're allowed to be old, you're an elf and as for you" he looked at Laszlo "I'll always be an old man as long as I've got two pre-teen daughters, I'll be even older when they become adults!"

"Yeah, well, you're not old to me and you won't ever be."
While the tone of the current topic had been of a humorous vein, László's words held a serious undercurrent.
