"Ah, yes, it WAS my home. And I left because I couldn't stay there anymore.
And I've told you, you can change things, it doesn't have to happen the way you read it."
Was he getting exasperated? Well, it was hard not to...since he was talking to Louis. Between him and Lestat, it seemed there was still enough to get Daniel upset with people.

Well of course it was his home, but not in the way Louis saw his plantation. It was his estate, his family's estate, his brothers estate.
He sighed and allowed a small smile to appear on his face "Daniel I know that you are simply trying to help, but if I am ever to be truly rid of Lestat. I must do it on my terms, and as of yet, I do not know what those are. Because as much as I hate him, I love him, and he knows it. So he exploits it, when the day comes that I can finally be rid of these, feelings. And I know that I said before that I couldn't feel, and that I didn't think our kind could fall in love, I still believe that. The love I feel for Lestat is because he's my maker, because in my mind I believe I could not exist without him. Although I know I can."
Louis sighed "Please understand that whenever he's around, or I even think about him, my mind doesn't work as well as it should."

Part of that, he knew what Louis meant, but the other part he didn't understand--to him, it sounded as though Louis were making things more complicated and difficult for him than they needed to be, and he wasn't doing a very good job of getting away from Lestat. In fact, it sounded like he wasn't putting much effort into it at all. But, fine. He'd just stay out of this, then.
He was forgetting, conveniently, just how enthralled by Armand he'd been once.
"I'll drop it, then.
So, was there nothing else you wanted to ask me?"

"No" Louis stood up and went to the door "thank you."

Daniel hopped to his feet. "All right. I'm still at Le Rouge, if you ever find a way to shake Lestat off." He said, as he headed out .

"Yea" Louis nodded and allowed Daniel to pass "I might."
He had all ready come to the conclusion that he was going to try and keep as far away from Daniel and any other vampire as best he could. Not that he didn't like Daniel, no, he just didn't want to have to deal with 50 years of information that Louis still didn't understand.

**NEW NIGHT** Alex stared down at the letter in his hands, a faint smile on his lips. Louis, in typical Louis fashion, had taken off and left behind a rather lovely letter, with beautiful handwriting and prose both. It was hard to be mad at him, really, even if he had taken off without Alex. Alex imagined that Paris didn't hold a whole lot of good memories for the other man, and didn't really blame him for wanting to clear out of here fast. In any case, Louis had left an address, so Alex could still track him down. He would, eventually--being that they were both vampires, there was no reason to hurry, since they had all the time in the world. Louis knew that Alex would still be here if he had a burning need to speak to him, anyway. Alex liked Paris well enough that he didn't really have any desire to leave, although he did want to see London eventually. He'd never been to England before. London would be there when he finally drifted that way. For now, he'd haunt the streets of Paris just a little bit longer (and hopefully continue to dodge Daniel, though that had gotten easier lately, leading Alex to suspect that the other vampire had moved on elsewhere, which was fine by him). He neatly set the letter aside and headed out into the night .
