"Leaving so soon?"
((I'll bet that that suit probably makes an interesting noise when clapped on the shoulder.))

Adrien looked back over his shoulder.
"Well. From what you've said, it sounds like the mock-up is very easy to get in and out of. Surely you don't need help," he said with exaggerated, but not unnatural, innocence.

"Of course it's not needed," Veidt said lightly as he pulled the 3/4 circlet from his hair and pushed his hair back with his fingers. "However, I don't have a complete distaste for luxury..."

Adrien lifted his own hand to push his fingers through Veidt's hair without thinking, and, if he thought afterwards, without judging himself or deciding to stop.
"Mm?" he questioned. "You have even an incomplete distaste for luxury?"

"It is pleasant enough on its own, but I have done well enough without in the past."

The tilt of Adrien's head was somehow affectionate in some way or other. The number of times Adrien had brought up his paycheck - or, since he had stopped being obvious about it, at least forward about it, the number of times he'd hinted at it - attested to some outright discomfort with it on Adrien's own part. "Not very Spartan of you, huh?" he said, still smiling, running his fingers over the velvet cape, forgetting again that he was supposed to not know that sort of thing.

"If you want to help, Baillon, just say so."

"Oh, but I don't," said Adrien, grinning hugely, almost saucy, now tracing his fingers down the front of the mock-up. "Really. I just want you to ask for it."
He had only come this far towards poking fun at Veidt affectionately once before, and that had led to an accusation of insolence.
...Which was not entirely uncalled for, but certainly he wasn't trying to vex, either.

"You flatter yourself."

Adrien laughed. "You're not flattered by me saying that?" Veidt continually amazed, surprised, or delighted him. Under the influence of good spirits at the moment, he was extremely delighted now. He was so... modest. Which wasn't entirely unexpected, and yet was.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, Baillon, but I suspect you're merely trying to get me to ask you."

Adrien, in some curious sort of fascination with the artificiality of Veidt's apparel, slid his hands around the sculpted waist and tilted his head.
"You are wrong," he said. "If it flatters you more, I'll ask. Would you like me to ask?"

"If it should please you to ask-"

"It should please me," said Adrien, indeed looking very pleased, and twining his hands behind Veidt's back, slipping quite a bit closer, "for you to say yes afterwards. But if you really want to do it yourself... at least let me watch."
His smile was one of pure delight. His lips parted again for him to speak, but it was as though they parted simply as he was breathing. "So can I help?"
