"Came where?" Ned asked, knitting his brows, unsure what she was referring to.

"Here!"

"Oh..." Ned began, at a loss for words, swaying to and fro on the balls of his feet. He bore a perplexed expression which cut deep into his brow and splattered itself across his eyes. "I'd assumed that when you left behind your card, you wanted me to come here, but maybe I misunderstood. Did you not want me to come? Because I can undo my coming. I can un-come and just leave right now. It'd be as if I were never here."

*She giggled and looked up.*
"No, I'm glad you did."
*She just hadn't expected him to actually visit a castle to see a vampire who had come on way too strong.*

"Okay, that's good," he said and breathed a sigh of relief. Ned had presumed that perhaps, he was being far too forward with his actions; after all, he didn't do much dating. His eyes now roamed over the torch that shined its yellow light down upon them and the castle's brickwork. "How long did you say the castle has been here?"

"... well, it depends on how you define 'here'. If 'here' is relative and you mean how long has this castle existed as a whole, I would say over 600 years. If you mean 'here' as in Paris, as in this very spot..."
*She bit her lip and thought a moment.*
"Ten years, maybe?"

"Yeah, I never really got that whole time-space thing around here," he shrugged. A thought occurred to him just then. "Were you a resident here, or were you transported back in time like I was? If so, did you wake up in an odd place like I did? On the floor of an opera house's foyer?"

*She laughed, shaking her head.* "No, I grew up in this time-stream. Even outside of Paris it gets weird."

"I guess it's just me, then, huh?" he laughed, rubbing the back of his head.

"No, not at all! Lots of people show up mysteriously!" *She assured him, almost reaching over to pat his arm but stopping herself.*

Almost as if in response, Ned retreated a few steps.
"We have to remember to be careful around each other," he warned.

"So is it skin-on-skin or can you touch through clothes or what?"

"It's only through direct contact with skin."
He wiggled his fingers and shoved them behind his back.

*She thought this over then scurried ahead, pushing a set of giant, intricately carved mahogany doors open with very little effort.*
"This, good sir, is the ballroom."

Ned wandered in, almost on cue, his eyes widening in fascination, his hands immediately dropping to his sides. He had never seen anything like it, and he informed Cal of this. The room was massive and embellished with such ornate designs that made it appear elegant and classy without coming off as too much.
"It's beautiful."
