Krolock's composure slipped, but only just enough for the corner of his mouth to twitch in amusement at what Yager said. He glanced at Buffy for a moment, then shook his head.
"She is not one of those fey things, that I can assure you."

"Um, I like boys," Buffy clarified, just in case.
Sparkly?

"I trust you, my friend, but still... three words. Homicidal. Sparkling. Slayer. I'm not even a vampire and still I wouldn't want to risk it."
Especially not since it would be a homicidal sparkling slayer who at the same time happened to be a vampire herself... it was enough to break a man's brain. Well, not Yager's of course. That was one brain that had suffered enough abuse to be quite resistant to such things, but someone else's... sure.
He then glanced over at Buffy. "What does that have to do with anything?"

"Not sparkly. I know these things."
Krolock gave Buffy a look that seemed to say, See, you aren't alone in Yager making you crazy.
"Well, fey has...certain other definitions."

"Oh," Buffy said shortly, feeling stupid and out of the loop but glad that was cleared up, anyway. "Good. So. To sum up: I'm still the Slayer, and also a vampire, who is not sparkly, Yager's friends with you, and... anything else?"

"Fine then, not sparkly. Can we at least agree on potentially homicidal?"
Yager had been around Buffy for a little while now... he knew these things.
"I think you've just about mentioned all of it," he answered after a moment of thought, his gaze drifting back to Buffy before shooting a questioning glance at the older vampire to see if he had anything to add.
After all, the count was a lot more intelligent than he was, Yager knew that much.

"Perhaps," Krolock said, carefully considering.
"We can find out how exactly you became a vampire. I have a feeling it wasn't from the usual method."

"Oh. Good," Buffy said again, because this, at least, was practical, and may lead to her not being a vampire anymore, which would pretty much make her day. "Okay, so Spike and I were fighting demons in this alley, and it was all gross and goopy when we killed it, and then suddenly he was human and I was... like this. So yeah, not really normal."

He listened as she explained the situation, carefully considering the details.
"That...goo...you spoke of. Perhaps it had something to do with the switch?"

"Well, duh," Buffy said. "But it's not like I have, like, a watcher and library full of books for him to figure it out." But she knew from experience that most of the time, these things didn't wear off. You had to do something funky with something's heart or something.

"Seems likely to me too... I'm no expert, but the combination 'demon' and 'goo' is rarely a good thing. I mean, we've both seen what simple Parisian sewage goo could do to my coat... let alone what actual demonic stuff might be capable of," Yager put in.
"Also, as the only one here with any sensitivity to temperature... might I suggest we go inside? There's a library there too."

Krolock wasn't entirely read up on Slayer lore, but the name Watcher sounded familiar to him.
"Ah, yes, let's continue the conversation inside...and we can figure out what kind of demons they were, and see what we can discover about them..."

Yager was right about the not being an expert thing, but Buffy didn't quite feel the need to add on. "Yeah," she said. "Once I could read everyone's minds... Which was cool for about ten minutes."
She shrugged, and followed them inside; she knew she ought to be afraid, but so far, no one was killing anyone, and it hadn't even been that hard.

"Someone tried to read my mind once," Yager said cheerfully. "He then ran like all the demons in Hell were after him," he added without any change of tone.
Actually, that was quite an odd thing to do, now he thought about it.

Krolock snorted.
"Ah, yes, well...being assailed all at once by all the images in a person's head can be overwhelming."
Who knew what that would do if it was Yager.
In any case, Krolock led them to the massive library.
