*Brandi wiped her hands on her apron as she headed down the stairs with a smile. Those kids had been a handful when they were babes...now they were shaping up to real trouble potential. But they were still kinda cute.*
"Yes, forgive me. What can I do for--" *She paused her step for only a moment in realization of whole the woman was. After all, she was the source of most of Spike's dilemmas and the antithesis of Sarah in Norman's life. But Brandi didn't lose her smile as she continued to the woman.*
"-you? Are you looking for a room?" *She offered helpfully.*

She smiled back, non-toothy of course, to hide the fangs.
"Oh, actually, I'm looking for a person. I was told she stayed here but then I found out that she doesn't anymore. Maybe you could help?"

*Brandi's mind was already turning, trying to figure out if Maria had somehow followed Norman here. Maybe she was looking for Sarah. That would be unfortunate. And probably throw a kink into whatever sort of progress Norman was making.*
"Maybe. We see a lot of business here, but I'm happy to help if I can. Who are you looking for?"

She was getting self-insert vibes from this woman, but hopefully no trouble would come of it. The inserts knew each other, in a sense.
"I'm looking for my sister, Sarah Anne?"

"Oh." *Something in Brandi seemed to give a little, the vaguest hint of relaxation.*
"I've seen her, she was here, but..." *She pursed her lips, trying to think.* "I haven't seen her in ages." *She answered honestly.* "Several months at least."

Okay, so far, so good.
"I don't suppose you know where she went? I haven't been able to contact her in a long time."

"Hmm." *Brandi's brow lowered as she moved past the vampire and towards the front desk.*
"I'm not sure. She didn't tell me anything ((did she?)), but I'd be happy to see if she left a forwarding address. There was a period when I was...out of town."
Fat lot of good it did me.

"Oh, that'd be great."
If there was nothing, however...Maria was stuck.

*Brandi sifted through the paperwork, but there didn't seem to be anything.*
"I'm sorry." *She answered genuinely.* "She didn't leave an address." *She tried to think on it, momentarily wondering if she could take a vampire in a fight if she had to.*
"But there was a gentleman caller that came around a few times. Perhaps they became more involved."

Damn. But...maybe...
"Did you catch his name? Or anything? I hate keeping you down here, but it's a bit of an emergency."
I need to destroy her.

"Um..." *Brandi's brow crinkled in thought. Enough perhaps, but not too much.*
"Tall gentleman, dark hair, a bit refined...." *She offered in concession.*
And one definite dark streak when you let his beast out.
*Brandi frowned for a moment, the though all too familiar. She could almost hear Hedonism's voice and that was not a good thing. But she recovered.*
"I'm sorry, that's all I can remember."

She nodded, somehow managing to hide her frustration. "Okay, thanks. I'm sure there's someone around here that knows who you're talking about. I'll just get out of your hair now." With a little wave, she turned and headed out the inn. It was time to try her last resort--the vampire underworld .

*Brandi let out a small sigh, busying herself for a few minutes in case Maria came back. There had to be some way to let Sarah know what was heading her way without inadvertently leading the vamp straight to her. She ducked into the kitchen at sat at the small table. Shutting her eyes, she took a deep breath and focused, trying to send her thoughts out into the verse-y ether. Maybe she could ping Sarah. Then again, maybe not.*
Sarah. Sarah Anne. If you can hear me, we need to talk. But not here. Somewhere out of the way.
((I'm cool whether or not she gets the message.))

((Crap, I let this get past me. Sorry about that)) Sarah looked up from what she'd been working on at her desk. Sure, Brandi. Where should we talk? I can pretty much meet anywhere. This was a bit worrying. Suethors normally didn't contact each other like this unless it was an emergency .

((No worries.))
*It was a bit of a relief, but it was still a little unnerving to hear people in her head. It was something she just couldn't get used to. She swallowed, trying to think of something out of the way.*
The Grasshopper and Scorpion. There's an author-room there. I'll meet you there.
*She stood and wrote a quick note to Cry-Baby, leaving it upstairs.*
A friend needs an ear. I'm headed to the Grasshopper and Scorpion. I shouldn't be out too late.
Love, B
