Tsuzuki was in heaven. He'd completely forgotten everything- his suspicion of Noah, the dangerous and frightening way the man had acted when Tsuzuki tried to leave the first time, possibly his own name - in favor of pressing his nose up to the glass of the nearest display, behind which there was a dazzling variety of pies and cakes and tarts and anything man had ever invented that caused toothaches.
"There are so many sweets," he said in a hushed voice, apparently to the glass.

"I knew you'd like it," he said; why he bothered to was anyone's guess, as Tsuzuki was oblivious to everything at that moment.

Tsuzuki stayed glued to the glass for a few long minutes. Then he bounded upright, eyes shining, and made a beeline for the somewhat startled shopgirl behind the counter, rattling off the names of the various sweets he wanted while the girl hurried to get them for him. While she was bustling, Tsuzuki whirled on Sylar- "Do you want anything?"

Sylar jumped a little. Tsuzuki's enthusiasm was a little overwhelming. "Um... no, thanks. I'm OK." At Tsuzuki's baffled and slighlty offended look, he changed his mind. "Well, maybe something small. Um. A cupcake?"

Tsuzuki whirled back to the shopgirl, who'd almost finished gathering up all the sweets he wanted. After a brief cupcake search, she added up the goods and announced the total. Tsuzuki visibly wilted. His best puppydog eyes didn't work, so a moment later Tsuzuki trudged over to Sylar, arms full and pockets empty.
"Table?"

"Not in here, I don't think, but we could sit outside the cafe across the street." He took some of the bags. They looked heavy.
"So what brings you to Paris?"

Tsuzuki nodded and began the trek across the street, keeping a wary eye out for carts or small darting animals, anything that might make him drop his spoils.
"I'm here on vacation! I'd never been outside Asia. What about you?"

"Visiting a friend. I think I might stick around, though."

"Yes, it's nice here, isn't it?" Tsuzuki dumped his load on a free table at the little cafe, plopping down in the chair. Very carefully, he separated Sylar's cupcake from the rest- it had been in his stack of packages, not the ones Sylar had carried- and placed it in front of the other chair.
Then he proceeded to utterly demolish the mountain of sweets, practically weeping with happiness.

"Beautiful," he said shyly, not taking his eyes off of Tsuzuki. "I-it's beautiful here," he clarified, blushing, and concentrated firmly on his cake.
((It's 2 AM. I'll pick this up again later.))

Tsuzuki nodded, completely oblivious, too wrapped up in his food. He was humming a little as he ate- the initial rush was over, and now he was taking his time, having a bite of this cake here, and that pie there, and utterly, utterly content. Even the fact that he'd just spent his allotted meal money for the week didn't bother him- he wouldn't care until he went back to the Meifu again and was scolded for it. Ah, well, more debt. What was another week on top of the 256 years of pay he already owed?
(( Oh, wow. By all means, get some rest! It's only 9 here. ))

Sylar took advantage of Tsuzuki's sweet-induce obliviousness to study him closely.
He was paler than one might expect of an asian man, and those eyes really were rather startling. Strands of messy, mid-length brown hair kept obscuring the view. Though masculine, he was more easily described as beautiful than handsome.
His easy trust and unrestrained joy in what he loved best were... familiar, to say the least, as was the core of steel Sylar had glimpsed earlier. This one did not frighten easily, or cave to pressure; a better tactic would be to gain his complete trust. His lies were obvious, and so was his guilt. He would wish to be honest with a friend, eventually. Until then, there was no rush, and spending time with such a man would be no kind of hardship.

Tsuzuki tapped his fork on his mouth, eyes roving the table thoughtfully. There was almost nothing left, and he was pleasantly full, almost too full. For the first time since they'd sat down he looked up at his companion and caught him watching; Tsuzuki flushed a little, laughing at himself. "Sorry! I get carried away sometimes." He was determined to be polite now, and to make up for more or less ignoring Sylar while he was eating. "Who is your friend?"
(( I just realized that Sylar said cupcake, not fruitcake. I don't know how in the world I came up with that one. ))

((I did say fruitcake, then I changed my mind. I edited before you posted, but you must have read it before I edited.))
"Oh, I don't mind. I've never seen anyone enjoy their food quite so much before," he teased.
"My friend - he just moved here too, actually, about a month before I did. His name is Mohinder, and he's a geneticist. He studies people like me. That's how we met. I was his patient zero."
