*It took her a good while to realize he was there. Once she had, and her eyes flickered up, she quirked an eyebrow.*
"How long have you been there?"

"A stalker never reveals such things," *he joked, staying where he was.*

*She chuckled.* "Next I'll wake up in the middle of the night and you'll be watching me sleep, pervert."

"Watching is for the impotent."
*Chuck stopped leaning and sauntered in.*
"And please. Don't act like you have any objections to my perversions," *he said suavely.*

*She rolled her eyes and tossed her book at his head half-heartedly, turning pink.*
"I am a young lady of Quality, sir, and object to your casting such aspersions on my character." *She insisted, pulling a hand to her chest and pretending to be offended.*

*Swiftly turning, he watched the book fly past him. Chuck looked rather impressed.*
"Quality? You haven't got any contest from me."
*He lowered himself and sat down at her feet, his hands stroking her ankles as he grinned crookedly.*

*Shivers traveled up her leg at the feeling of his fingers through the silk stocking.*
"Mm you're awful, you know. Debauching my ankles." *She said dryly, but she was quite clearly enjoying it.*

*He took one hand and rolled up her skirt to just above the knees.*
"And now your knees..." *he said before kissing them both very lightly.*
*His hands now moved to her calves and carefully touched them.*

*Her toes and leg muscles tensed and one side of her mouth quirked up.*
"Horrible person." *She said, resting her hand at the base of his neck and gently dragging her fingers across the nape, knowing full well what it would do to him.*

*Chuck let out a groan, took her by the small of her back and pulled her in so that her legs were on either side of him. Rising to his knees, he met her lips rather roughly. His hands, low on her back, were sliding even lower.*

*She leaned in, sliding down and pressing against him, and was about to move her hands to his buttons when they heard footsteps in the hall. They were headed towards the sitting room.*
*Adrienne's eyes widened, and she pulled back and scrambled back onto the couch frantically.*

*Cursing inwardly, Chuck bolted to the other side of the room and fell into the chair there. When he saw someone entering, he looked up nonchalantly.*

*It was Enjolras.*
"Afternoon, Papa." *She said, her voice higher than usual. Enjolras nodded.* "Afternoon."
*He grabbed a newspaper and sat in an armchair as Adrienne stood and picked up her book from the other side of the room.*

*He really didn't know what to do. A part of him wanted to get up but another told him that it would make things too obvious and yet another told him to not say anything-- but that would REALLY be obvious. So he settled for sending the Comte a simple nod and a greeting.*
"Good afternoon, sir," *he said, catching the overly cool tone only after the words left his mouth.*
*It didn't really occur to him that he looked really out of place with no book or anything else in his hands.*

*Adrienne, however, had thought ahead and managed to hand him the first book she grabbed out of a basket on the ground. It was a girly romance novel whose origins she really wasn't sure of. With that she retreated to her seat.*
