"To history, then." He lifted his glass and realized it was almost empty. Well where had that gone? He giggled, then wished he had not, because giggling was embarrassing.

Sebastian's smile showed off more teeth, not in an awkward way, but in that way children might have had it where what would normally be awkward was merely incredibly charming, because they were so young and pretty and because they weren't aware that they could be awkward. "You're going to need another one and so am I," he said, having finished his with that one.

"I don't think that's a very good idea..." He looked at the glass, realizing he had drunk it too fast, then smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, are you new to it? You'd better get some practice before Oxford," said Sebastian, in a way that was more playful then bossy, trading off his empty glass with a full one as a waiter went by.

"Not precisely new... I just hadn't realized it had gone so fast."

"I mean social drinking," said Sebastian. "Everyone drinks wine at home... don't they?"

"Oh. Then, um, yes." Frankly, he hadn't had much occasion for it, as he didn't go to many social events.

"You'll learn. You'll be going to Oxford, after all. Which school?"

"Hertford," he said. "Same as my father and uncle."

"Christ Church. You'll come over for luncheons with me and things, won't you?"

He nodded, finally draining the glass. "It'll be nice to know someone. I know practically nobody in England except my cousin, and she's a girl so obviously she won't be at Oxford."

"You'll meet people I know and be in company more than you'll even care for, I think. I think it's hard to be alone at Oxford."
Sebastian actually thought it was hard to be alone in general. He had always been a social butterfly.

Andrew, on the other hand, was quite a loner. He'd prefer to find a place in the library and hole up all day. He wasn't at all used to being in company more than not.
"I'm terribly awkward in company."

Andrew didn't really see how that was a good idea, but he giggled anyway. He was beginning to feel a bit floaty and light.
