Ah, I just realized, that did sound withering. I'm pleased, really. I've thought of myself as a catalyst before.
(( There's a post ahead of this one. ))

((Thanks for telling. ^_^))
Maybe it did. I couldn't tell. Was it supposed to be a dry comment on how unmoved you were, or was it supposed to be about me, and therefore more on the side of snideness?
Yes. You are that insightful, aren't you. You've always been, for me, and doubtless Lestat, though I suspect he won't see it.

No. I was just pointing it out.
Do you resent me for it? Had I and the other vampires not taken you, Lestat might not have turned you. He might have let you die.

Hmmm.
(( - meaning someone's just received a text message and is feeling like being sly.))
I just love the addition of "the other vampires", as though you didn't have control over everything under that cemetery. And considering that I asked you to build me that pyre in the first place, suggesting that as though it's grave is almost laughable.
But I'll try not to be spiteful. Had you asked me then, I might have had something hostile to say, but in perfect honesty, Armand, no. I owe you everything.

I couldn't leave them completely out. That would be impolite.
Then one could say I bring out the tenderness in you.

Of course. Angel of politeness. I'd forgotten. Can you use silverware, too?
The thought is enormously intriguing to me. I wonder if it will ever be put to the test?

Why on earth would I need to?
I'm sure we can find out, given that you are coming to visit me.

Yes. I am. I am very excited. Didn't I say?
Occasionally I get up, move around the room in a quickly, excited circle, and then sit down again.

Like...a puppy.

Not like a puppy.
It's a sort of tic, I think. Suddenly I'm up out of the seat, halfway across the room, and then I return, just as quickly, having not intended to leave, just expend energy.
I've done it since childhood, I think. When I'm very excited.

That's very interesting. I'm glad you're looking forward to coming so much. I can't say I've had the urge to do something like that, but I'm very pleased regardless.

No, you probably could sit still for hours. I don't understand how, but it suits you.

I don't think it's that unusual among our kind.

No, no, it's not.
Let me rephrase that: you can sit still for long hours without ever having a counteracting mania overtake you. I swing. You don't. I find it strange.

Am I a mystery, then?
Are you at all capable of controlling your mania, Nicolas?
