"A liar," he answers with an easy smile. "A lying little liar who lies, and is most certainly anything but human." He let himself fall backwards, but his head hung off the other side of the bed so he sat up again.
Not human. Not human. What did that mean? Not like him, not evolved, nothing he could take for himself. But what was he?
The colour drained from Sylar's face so suddenly it was as though someone had thrown a bag of flour at him. His mind filled with crosses, his mother's voice as she read to him from the Bible, the unforgiving glare of the priest who told him off for fidgeting in the church he hadn't been to since... since.
No. No, it couldn't be. An angel would never lie.

Tsuzuki looked extremely nonplussed, even beginning to pout. It was childish of him, but no one liked being called a liar- even if he was. It was lucky for him he'd been so wrapped up in the accusation that he hadn't really paid attention the last of Sylar's words- he wouldn't have liked them.
But Sylar seemed to be absorbed in his thoughts, so...Tsuzuki quietly tried to sneak out of the room, taking advatage of Sylar's momentary lack of attention.

Mute, Sylar watched the ang- the man's extremely unsneaky sneaking. How could this... this possibly be anything more than human? He was probably just some wacko with an ability who thought he was a changeling or something.
Thus reassured, Sylar TKed the door shut with an unnecessary but very dramatic wave. "Where are you going in such a hurry? We're just getting to know each other."

Tsuzuki gave the door a long, astonished look, an almost comical expression of surprise on his face. Then that face was turned on Sylar.
"Um," he said, very nervously. "Away?" He gave Sylar a sheepish, hopeful smile. Ohhh, he didn't like this, this was bad. He would likely have to tell the man what he was after all- no, no, he was thinking of this completely the wrong way. Tatsumi would kill him if he screwed this up. He wasn't supposed to just go around telling people about Shinigami. He could- he could just lose this physical form and go right through the wall, that's what he could do. As a last resort- he'd rather be able to convince this man that he was perfectly normal and walk away on his own.

"Um," he mocked. "No?" He stood and crossed the room to loom over the smaller man, ignoring the rules of personal space. His voice, when he spoke, dripped with something mid-way between menace and lust.
"Come on, Tsuzuki. It would be cruel of you to wander off now, just when you've piqued my curiousity. Sit down. Let's talk." He turned to view the room; tiny, dimly lit, and stinking of blood. "Actually, let's go talk somewhere else. Somewhere I can get cleaned up."

Tsuzuki leaned away from Sylar, reminded abruptly and unpleasantly of Muraki. Something in his eyes hardened. He hated Muraki, and it didn't do Sylar any good for Tsuzuki to see a resemblance. "No. I don't want to go anywhere with you."

Sensing the change, Sylar shrugged and stepped back. There was no need to antagonise him; he might actually be dangerous.
"Suit yourself," he lied. "I just thought we could get to know each other better. Even without the humanity question, you're a very interesting man, and I'd like to know more about you. Aren't you the least bit curious about me? Wouldn't you at least like to know what else I can do?" He schooled his features to innocent hopefulness. It was rather underscored by his earlier behavior, but perhaps that could be put down to mere lack of social skills.

Tsuzuki regarded him suspiciously. He wasn't at all curious about Noah anymore, he wasn't anything but on guard, and he didn't believe the other man's innocent expression or placating words. Tsuzuki trusted too easily and too fast, and he knew it, but the way Noah had been looking at him, like a bug underneath a microscope, made Tsuzuki's hackles rise. He was aware of the danger of this man in an unusual way; he was rarely so perceptive. And what Noah had said- 'An interesting man,' that was new and somewhat tempting, but Tsuzuki didn't want to talk about his humanity with this near-stranger or anyone else.
He should leave. But, startled into speech- "You can do more?"

There was nothing cruel or secretive about the grin on Sylar's face now, just simple, unabashed joy at the chance to show off to someone who might even survive the experience.
"Much, much more," he agreed, eyes alight. "Wanna see?"

Tsuzuki eyed him dubiously, a little surprised and relieved by Sylar's sudden smile. It was so simply happy he couldn't help but question his dark suspicions just a few seconds before. He tried to hang onto the suspicion. A pleasant smile wasn't enough. "...yes..."

Sylar was practically bouncing with excitement. "Great! I don't get to show off very often. You know how it is." He continued before Tsuzuki could deny it.
"OK, besides the telekinesis, which you've seen, I have eidetic memory, enhanced hearing, and intuitive aptitude, which aren't very flashy but are way more useful than, for example, melting inorganic materials." He demonstrated that last by waving a hand over the broken call button, which promptly began to sink into itself. "Intuitive aptitude is basically an instinctive understanding of how things work. It's a shame it only works on things," he lied, with a sheepish smile. "I could use some help understanding people."
"There's also alchemy-" he half-walked, half-skipped to the bed and stroked it lightly, watching the brass turn to gold - "Cryokinesis-" to the window, painting icy ferns on the glass - "and painting the future, but I don't really like to use that one if I can help it. The last time I did, I didn't like what I saw."
He peered hopefully at Tsuzuki, waiting for a reaction.

Tsuzuki gazed back at him, looking a little dazed by this laundry list of attributes. "That's a lot...." He went over to the window, to press his palm to the icy glass, before his distracted gaze landed on the golden bed, then the call button, then back to Sylar. "Wow. Where did you get these?"
It really was amazing, the things this man could do. Tsuzuki just hoped he wouldn't turn out to be a molestation-happy serial killer like the last human he'd met with remarkable and inexplicable abilities. His behavior now was so cheerful that it again made Tsuzuki doubt himself. Maybe he'd overreacted earlier...?

((Well, he's not much for the molestation. He's not very touchy. His voice, though, is pure sex.))
Sylar shrugged again, a little uncomfortably. "Intuitive aptitude I was born with, though it took me a long time to realise it was anything unusual. The others... There are lots of people out there, special people, people with abilities like these. If I get can close enough, my original ability lets me figure out how they do it, and copy it." No need to go into to much detail there.
"Oh! I forgot one." He created a brief blaze of nuclear energy between his palms, careful to keep a safe distance from... well, everything.

(( Oh, don't I know it, about the voice thing. I didn't expect him to be, on the other account, it's just that one cannot label Dr. Muraki only as a serial murderer and that's who Tsuzuki was comparing him to. ))
"There are other people like you?" Now Tsuzuki was utterly bewildered. "Oh, no, I didn't mean that's bad, it's just- that's- well." He gave a little shrug, eyes somewhat unfocused as if lost in thought. Maybe this was another one of things he'd have known if only he paid attention, like that time he hadn't known about the winter kingdom of talking animals...he had the very guilty suspicion that it was. Oops. "I didn't know." He refocused in on the blaze between Sylar's hands curiously, not recognizing it for what it was, and wondered whether this meant Sylar could copy any of his abilities.

Sylar grimaces slightly, but only for a moment. "Well, not exactly like me. There is one other person who can take on other people's abilities, just by being near them, but he doesn't have anywhere near as much control as I do. He nearly blew up a city by accident, can you believe that? A city! A big one, too. And he knew it was going to happen, because he painted it, but did he get out of said city? Nooo. Apparantly the best way to be a hero is to blow up the people you're trying to protect before the villain does." Realising how obvious his bitterness is, he tries to change the subject.
"Um... anyway, I'm not surprised you didn't know. We tend to keep to ourselves, mostly, or sometimes each other. A lot of people..." he trailed off, shook his head ruefully, and started again. "A lot of people are afraid of what they can do, afraid of being different, so they hide who they are. It's a pity, really. It's nothing to be ashamed of, no more than you should be ashamed of having brown eyes." He smiled softly into the distance, then turned back to Tsuzuki. "Or... purple eyes, in your case. Huh. That's unusual."
