It went without saying that Tsume and Kiba had been through a lot--by now, Tsume had learned better than to doubt Kiba on the important things.
But as he watched the white wolf tear off three more branches, relentlessly inching closer to where the boy was hiding, he felt obliged to try reasoning with his alpha.
"How long are you gonna keep that up?!" Tsume demanded. "I'm not helping you unless I know you're not just looking for a punching bag!"
"He attacked us!" Kiba reminded him vehemently. "I'm not an idiot--I'll fight fair, but only when you're on the ground!" He yelled upwards, ripping yet another branch from the tree trunk.
"Tch... Can't argue with that." The gray wolf followed Kiba's lead and started breaking off the branches big enough to support a human's weight.

Helen sighed for a moment, then she went over to the wolves.
"If I may be so bold as to come with a suggestion: Wouldn't it be better to send one of us up in the tree, and try to bring the boy down? With this behavior, you'll only frighten him."

"I don't think Kiba wants to negotiate right now," Tsume stopped to inform her. "And it wasn't an accident--that guy was definitely aiming for him."
Not-Human Lady was helping out, too--if the kid was smart enough to realize he was outnumbered, they wouldn't have to wait for him to fall out of the tree.

*Beraht looked down at the wolves who where trying to eat away a tree. Interesting, so they weren't normal wolves. They were some kind of shape shifters. And then that little female. He wondered what she was. It might have seemed odd, but Beraht was actually enjoying this. He smiled down at the creatures who were trying to get to him.* "Let me help you with that." *He shouted, chuckling. He got to his feet, easily balancing on the tree branch he had been sitting on and then jumped. He soared through the air for a moment and then he disseapered magically, in a cloud of black smoke. He reappeared in front of the elf girl.* "Boo." *He whispered, still grinning. Then he turned back to the tree and whistled.* "Here, doggy, doggy, doggy."

Moonshade had watched in fear when the boys she had thought to be human suddenly turned into BIG BAD WOLVES and started tearing up the tree where the boy was sitting. She looked up at the boy. In spite of the fear he had put in her when he attacked with the black orb, she had to admit he didn't look too bad. And he was so tough! Even with two furious wolves attacking the tree to make him fall down, he only laughed. Then he had suddenly disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.
She startled when he suddenly reappeared again, right in front of her, still grinning. She blushed deeply, and her violet eyes studied him shyly under long, dark eyelashes.
He looks even better on close hold....
She gave him a shy smile when he said "Boo." to her. She would have expected him to sneak away when the wolves were focusing on the tree, but no - he turned to the tree and whistled at them. Moonshade gasped in shock and grabbed his arm, as to stop him before he commited suicide.
"Are you crazy?" she exclaimed in panic. "They'll kill you!!"

It wasn't being called a dog in itself that pissed Kiba off; rather, it was that unbearably condescending tone that the boy used. A weak, juvenile, barely-grown HUMAN, acting like he was a pet! He didn't even have the nerve to fight with weapons--he was relying on that cheap trick of his to stay safe!
To say Kiba was annoyed would be an understatement.
No: He was livid and irate and fuming, and he was going to fucking KILL that kid!
His most recent jump had landed him at least twenty feet away from the rest of the party, as the boy's sudden disappearance had startled him into gaining distance instead of height.
"A dog? You're calling me a DOG?!" He resumed his disguise as he snarled, with his human face contorting as it mirrored his real form's expression. "I can kill five humans while they're still trying to aim at me!"
Another sprint closed the gap between wolf and human in seconds. When Kiba jumped again, fangs bared and eyes ablaze, there was no doubt that he was headed for the boy's throat.
((If you need an approximation of his height/weight, he's three feet high and currently 115 pounds. Also, his human form is appearance-only if I forgot to make it clear.))

Helen watched Kiba walking towards the boy, and for the first time in her life, she was afraid of him. She hoped she would never do anything to awaken his fury like this boy had done. She stood, frozen in fear, watching Kiba attack. She gasped when she saw his fangs bare and his eyes ablaze.
"Kiba...."
She whispered, trembling with anxiety.

Tsume was unnerved by how easy it had been for the kid to push Kiba over the edge. No matter what he was told, there was no way a couple of weeks and a few annoying people could turn his alpha back into a raging, homicidal basket-case.
Even Helen was scared of him right now--that look on her face was more than enough proof, to say nothing of her heart-rate and that unmistakable, sharp scent of fear.
Sure, the kid brought it on himself, but Tsume felt a little bad that he might have to die like this. There was no way he'd risk his own neck trying to stop Kiba.

In the heat of the battle, something so trivial as the entire fight being witnessed by another might easily be overlooked. Peering down from the branches of another tree, her eyes, which fairly glowed at the best of time, widened. Wherever she had warped to now, there was quite a commotion going on here, and what--more wolves? Honestly!
Quickly, she decided it was time to act, and putting her palms together she formed a crackling pulse of black-and-red energy, and released it: at the boy. If she'd timed it right, he should be knocked out of the way of the...beast's jump.

Moonshade screamed when the big white wolf jumped to attack the young boy. True he had attacked them, but nobody got killed or wounded, there was no need to kill anyone. Her screams could be heard all the way to the village, and some elven warriors with weapons came running.
Moonshade noticed a crackling pulse of black-and-red energy coming towards Beraht Cutter. She looked around to see where it came from. It seemed to come from a nearby tree. She hoped the energy wouldn't harm the handsome young boy.

Another person? Tsume realized, with yet another female making a second attack on the kid--and Kiba showed no signs of knowing (or even CARING) that he was headed towards it. How many people were HERE?!
"Kiba!" He shot his excuses to hell and dashed towards the white wolf, slamming him out of the way to pin him. After Kiba's initial shock, he immediately struggled to break loose--Tsume had a feeling that the only reason he wasn't getting torn up was because he was a pack member.
"LET GO OF ME!" Kiba bellowed, doing everything short of actual biting to break loose.
"Dumbass! You didn't care that you were about to get hit by that?"
"I've been through worse," Kiba seethed.
"You keep saying that, but I'm NOT letting you get yourself killed!" Tsume retorted. "You've gotten worse than I thought if you're letting a stupid kid get the better of you!"

It was at that precise moment that Midna happened to notice Tsume, and she noted at once the way he was looking, and she slapped her forehead in disbelief as she saw his direction. Goddesses, what kind of a screwed-up battle royale is this?!
No doubt her attack would hit home, but as it wasn't intended to injure she didn't bother to check. Instead, she dropped down from the tree, floating a few feet off the air and screaming at them all. "Will someone kindly tell me what the hell is going on here?"

"Lady, I'm not in the best position to explain every single thing right now!" Tsume snapped, shifting hurriedly as Kiba tried to throw him off. "The kid attacked Kiba, Kiba went off the deep end, and now you're here with more fancy magic shit! That's all I know!"

"Temper, temper," Midna admonished sarcastically, waving a finger of her hair and floating closer to them, to interpose if necessary. Why? She had no idea. Maybe just because she was supposed to lead by example, and should start practicing it. "If you boys don't behave, we might just have to separate you," she said, taking a good look around at everyone there. "Aren't you ashamed, fighing in front of ladies?" The last was said with a smirk, her fang glistening.

While he still had his human illusion up, Kiba made no attempt to continue the fight as he twisted free of Tsume's hold and stood.
"You! Shut up!" He growled at the newest arrival, baring his own fangs with an icy, wild glare. "What makes you care whether he dies or not? You don't know him--you're not even human!"
