*Will nodded, taking a deep breath and a large step out the door. But as he did, his body crumbled to a pile of ash on the threshold.*

***NEW MORNING***
*Will walked into the hall accompanied by Maria and took his seat.*
"So, you like to cook then?"

*María chuckled with laughter.*
"Well, if I have the time and the quality of the ingredients are good enough, certainly. I know how to make fine French cuisines, and things reserved for the royal court. My mother was very selective with what I was allowed to learn."
*She looked shyly up at him.*
"Do you like to cook?"

"Me?" *He asked.* "Oh no." *He held back his tongue about how it wasn't his place to do so. That's what wives were for.*
"But I like to eat." *He grinned.*

*María beamed with joy.*
"I am glad to hear that. Then you won't mind trying any of my cooking?"
*She started heating the water for the tea and turned to Will.*
"What kind of tea do you like? And do you want milk and sugar with it?"

*Will looked confused for a moment. Didn't everyone take morning tea with milk and sugar?*
"Yes please." *He answered.* "And I am happy to try whatever you wish to prepare. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful in inspiring you."

*María smiled and looked over the tea sorts she had to choose from. There were a lot of them. Chamomile tea, lemon tea, green tea, and even some fruit tea. Maria smiled and looked over at Will.*
"Do you like strawberry tea?"

What happened to black?
*Will smiled politely.*
"I've never had it."

*María smiled.*
"Hm, it is perhaps a bit too sweet for men."
*She showed the packs of teabags she could offer.*
"You know, I'll let you pick out which one you like."

*He waved his hand dismissively.*
"No, really. I'm willing to try it. That's fine." *Will didn't want to be rude.*

*María made two cups of hot strawberry tea. She made sure to make the taste strong. She stirred around in the cups and removed the teabags, then looked up at Will again.*
"How do you prefer your sugar and milk?"

"One sugar." *Will started, then looked a bit puzzled.* "And...'some' milk?" *He wasn't sure how anyone 'took' their milk.*
"Thank you."

*María smiled. She put one lump of sugar in his teacup, then she stirred around until the sugar was melted before adding the milk and stirring again. She made sure both the milk and the sugar blended properly with the tea, so the taste would be as good as possible. She placed his teacup in front of him.*
"Here it is. I hope it is to your liking."
*She made a cup of tea for herself as well, and sipped the tea carefully.*
"Do you have any plans for today?"
*She knew he couldn't leave the castle. But in a castle with over 500 rooms, she thought there might be something for him to do indoors. Her castle had been built a couple hundred years back, and there were furnitures from the residents that had lived there before her in all the rooms. There also were furnitures and all kinds of items from abroad, including maps, books and paintings.*

*Will blinked and took the tea.*
"Well, wake up. That's a start, right?"
*He sipped the tea and looked very surprised. It took him a moment to come up with the words.*
"It's very...sweet."

*María smiled and looked over at him.*
"If it is too sweet for you, I can make you another cup of tea. A darker sort, perhaps?"
