*María smiled warmly and looked back at him, chuckling with laughter.*
"Oh, it might still happen...."
*She focused on her food, not daring to look up at him after her bold comment.*

*Will stopped mid-bite, mouth agape and stared at her. Surely she wasn't still suggesting...not without the wine to lubricate such desires.*
"You still...huh? But surely...your reputation...your...peers." *It was a little too much to understand.*

*María chuckled with laughter and continued her breakfast. She met his stare, and her eyes were glittering with humor.*
"My reputation, Will? My reputation is much better than that of my peers, I can assure you. I treat my workers well, and give them salaries they can live with. I participate in all the work with the castle myself, and don't just leave it to others. So I think my workers won't think too bad about me if I do as I please when I don't work."
*She looked up at him.*
"As for my peers: They should watch their own backs. You have no idea what is going on at the parties they throw inside the palaces. I have seen some of them. Knowing what I know about my peers, I don't care what they may think about me."

*Will didn't look much less confused. At times like this, she seemed to almost be two women, on innocent and naive, the other a vixen, ready to strike. It was very disorienting.*
"But...you're Catholic." *He replied, as if that explained everything.*

*María looked over at him again. Then she blushed deeply and looked down again.*
"I am. And I am also a young woman, starting to develop new feelings I don't understand. It confuses me and frightens me at the same time. And still, there are elements there that make my body tingle, and I want to explore that to find out why."

*Will didn't see how that was of any matter. He wasn't Catholic, but being of the Church of England, he knew a thing or two about them.*
"Well...yes. We all go through that. It's part of temptation. It doesn't mean you should give in to it. Perhaps you should speak to your priest about it, if you are feeling tempted."
*He was just trying to be helpful.*

*María laughed.*
"Oh dear. I don't think I want to talk to a male priest about that. What would they know about the feelings of a young, vulnerable girl. They would probably make me feel guilty about things that according to my father, are perfectly normal. My father was never a huge fan of the priests."

*Will set down his spoon.*
"A priest might know much more than you would give them credit, milady. They dedicate their lives to God, denied the warmth of a woman."
*He shrugged slightly.* "Though if speaking to men about it makes you uncomfortable, perhaps you might talk to a nun."
*She was the most peculiar Catholic he'd ever come across.*

*María smiled gently and looked up at Will.*
"I know that, Will. I go to church regularly. I have learned a lot from the priests. But if I for once develop tender feelings for someone, I do not wish to have them destroyed by someone who most likely will call me devious and sinful. Have you seen the priests that are left in the church after Father Joseph left? There are nobody there I would even dream of speaking to about these matters."
*She looked over at him and sighed.*
"This is too perfect a day for silly arguments. How about you and I finish our breakfast and see if you are capable of leaving the house in your new state?"

*Will's eyes lingered on her for a moment longer. She didn't seem ready to deal with the repercussions of what she was asking for. But he was content enough to see if he could get out of the house.*
"Of course." *He wiped his mouth and stood.* "Ready whenever you are."

*María wiped her mouth and stood too, looking over at him and smiling. She had noticed that her bold remarks seemed to make him uncomfortable, and she decided to leave him in peace. If he wanted her, he would have to claim her, like other men claimed their women. Her mother had told her that young women must never get too eager. She hadn't understood what her mother meant by that. Now she knew, and she also knew that her mother was right.*
"Well, where do you want to go first?"

"Well..." *Will considered.* " I suppose outside is the first logical step." *He glanced towards the hall.*

*María smiled and looked over at him.*
"Well, it's a start. Let's see if you come further than the doorstep this time."
*She started walking towards the hall, hoping he would follow her.*

*Will jogging happily behind her to catch up as they started for the door.*

*María walked down the hall and over to the big main entrance door. It was a huge double door of massive oak. She opened it up, and offered Will to go first.*
"Please, you go first. I want to see if it works."
