Marie shook her head thoughtfully "Hmm, I was thinking more like Lady orrr..." the dog rolled over playfully and showed her belly which Marie happily scratched, she was full of fleas, but they'd give her a bath soon "maybe London, like where I was born."
What John hadn't told Hazel, was though he had met his wife here and they started the shelter there, Marie and his wife had lived in London for the first five years of her life.

*Hazel smiled and looked at the dog. She thought over the names.*
"Hmmmm.... What about Lucky London?"
*She had no idea that the London years were the happiest years in John's life. She was only thinking about how John had saved the dog's life.*

Hazel looked up at Marie and smiled.
"But I want you to have the final word. What do you think?"

((I thought so )) Hazel found some treats for Lucky. "Here, Lucky!" The dog wagged its tail and licked Hazels hands as it accepted her treats. Hazel petted the dog gently.

Marie left Hazel with the dog and ran over to her father "Her name is Lucky London!"
John chuckled "That sounds like the name of a horse."
Marie pouted.
"But I like it" kneeling down he put a bowl of food down for the dog and smiled.

The dog stood up to eat, and Hazel stepped back to John and Marie, and measured the dog with her eyes. She laughed when she heard John's comment.
"Well, he hath the thize of a small pony." She nudged Marie gently.

She commented, by the smell of the dog, and also a little because of the fleas.
"I think she needth a bath later."

Lucky sniffed the food in the bowl and started eating excitedly "Well you two can take her upstairs later and give her a bath after dinner, I'll get some blankets and make her up a bed in your room, that is if you don't mind."
"Nope!"
"Hazel?"

Hazel smiled and looked over at the dog.
"I go and prepare her bath while she'th eating. That way we can bring her right into the tub after her meal."

Hazel laughed when John lifted her up and span her around. She had been an orphan for so long she couldn't remember her own parents. But no other adult than Papa John had treated her like this. It made her love him even more.
"I thought you meant after Lucky'th dinner."
