***NEW NIGHT***
*Julian led the man to his room silently, careful to avoid the main house. It was better the less the man knew. Just in case. He shut the door behind them, the room strangely normal (if a bit lush) for being beneath the Opera.*
"Wait here."
*He turned to leave, but noted all his sketches and half-built oddities and projects.*
"And don't touch anything."

((OH Right to Julian's bedroom. ERik will LOVE that!))
"Alright. Thanks."
He was a bit surprised by the very comfortable surroundings and took a minute to pad around the room and look at things, keeping his hands folded behind his back as he leaned over something-or-other at one corner of the room. Lots of odd little things...maybe he was mad, but maybe he was one of those real geniuses, the sort who couldn't keep their minds in the real world.
After a minute of wandering, he sat on the edge of the bed and folded his hands in his lap, his fingers twining nervously.

((Dude, he's taking him there to kill him. What's the worst Erik can do?))
*Julian returned as quickly as possible, a small tray with a couple of bottles and a sherry glass on it. He looked to the man on his bed.*
"Would you like to recline first, sir?"
*It was an oddly civil and casual question.*

((Kill him again later. XD))
"Oh, um...I don't want to get blood on your bedding..."
The bloom on his back was soaking through his shirt now, though the front was only starting to dot with red.
"Please, call me Grantaire. Or Renard. Yes--call me Renard. No one ever did kindly, so I'd like to hear it such I suppose in my last few minutes or...how long will it take?"
The little man eyed the tray and swallowed nervously.

*Julian frowned for a moment, then pulled a sheet of canvas off a manikin. Or something like it. A mechanical man, only half-built. He carefully laid the sheet over the bed.*
"There, now blood is not and issue."
*He looked back to the man, quickly adding.*
"Renard."
*His eyes fell on the tray.*
"And yes, a few minutes at most. But don't concern yourself. There will be no pain."

"Thanks."
He hunched forward, rubbing one hand nervously up the other arm, and then pushed his dirty boots off and laid out on the bed.
"What's that thing?" He nodded toward the machine, but quickly chuckled at himself.
"I guess it doesn't matter...for me, I mean."
His own eyes returned to the tray and stayed locked there.
"And you'll stay?"

"It's..."
*Julian glanced from his mechanical creation to the man on his bed.*
"Of course I will stay."
I'm not going to let you die in my room unattended.
"Are you ready?"

Grantaire nodded and clenched his hands into the canvas under him.
"Yes, I suppose I am." his voice shook.

*Julian carefully poured a small amount of both liquids in a glass. Then he held it out to the man.*
"Here you are then."

He reached for it, but his hand was shaking too badly to hold the little glass, he had to take a moment to attempt to steady it, clenching his fist to white-knuckle tightness before actually being able to pick up the poison.
He licked his lips and glanced up to Julian, hoping the man were trustworthy enough not to have given him something that would be slow and painful, squeezed his eyes shut, and knocked the stuff back.
Well, if he had any second thoughts it was too late now. The glass was set back on the tray, clumsily, and he curled over, facing Julian, shivering violently.
"This is what I want...but I'm still afraid." He muttered.

*Julian straightened the glass and set the tray on a nearby desk. Then he sat next to the Renard on the bed.*
"There is no reason. The transition should be painless."
*For intend, Julian had given him a poison that was both painless and effective.*

"I'm not afraid of that. Just..." he shuddered and reached out to clutch onto the man's hand.
"There was nothing before, when I died. There was just nothing but blackness. Just not-being. No light, no angels, no God."
His breath hitched and he squeezed back tears.
"I'm scared."

*Julian...well he didn't know what to do. His instinct was to pull his hand away, but he didn't get the chance before...*

*Death oozed up in a black pillar, forming slowly into his robed bony self with a grin.*
"Erik! It's been too long, I thought--"
*He paused, studying the scene and the distinct lack of Erik.*
"Um, hey. Long time, um...Julian, right?"
*Julian just stood and bowed his head before looking to the man on the bed. Death quickly followed his glance.*
"Oh! Well, what do we have...um...."
*He stepped closer, towering over the fellow.*
"Grantaire."
*He frowned.*
"Aren't you dead already?"

The little man paled further, and would have gone wide-eyed were his lids not weighing to heavily. His numb hand fell heavily from Julian's grip when the man stood.
"You...must have...done something wrong. Before."
Breath came slower and more shallow and he was nearly asleep, but furrowed his brow a last time and muttered.
"M. Julian...my thanks...kind..." and he died. Again.
