"The entirety of the woods is my home."
Devon cast a worried glance in her direction. Surely more orcs would arrive--and in far greater numbers. What was he to do about Starmane?

Starmane looked shyly at him from the side. Stolen of course. She was definitely NOT interested. At least that was what she tried to tell herself.
"Really. You must know the woods well then. I need somewhere safe to stay overnight. Safe, like in non-orc. Do you know anywhere I could stay?"

Devon hesitated, glancing at Starmane out of the corner of his eye. He sighed in frustration and weighed his options.
"Come along, then."

Starmane looked at Devon as well. She had not been glad to ask him, but she really didn't want to run into more orcs. And he knew the forest. No matter how little she wanted to admit it: He was also strong enough to fight them. She followed him with a nod of appreciation.

With that, Devon led her away.
In the distance came the unmistaken shrieks and grunts of orcs. They were closing in fast.

Starmane heard the noise from the orcs. She shuddered anxiously and walked closer to Devon, not even noticing she was placing her tiny hand in his.

**NEW DAY**
After traveling most of the day, Kiba arrived at a waterfall and decided to stop there. He crouched to let Helen get off, scanning the area; the noise and water would probably keep pursuers off for a while.

Helen got off the wolf back, and sat down on the ground, resting against the trunk of a tree. She found some food in her backpack and wrapped herself into a blanket.
Suddenly she had a feeling they were not alone, that someone was looking at them. And still, she felt no danger coming from that someone.
"Kiba," she whispered. "We are not alone here."

The white wolf was instantly alert, standing in front of Helen. He wasn't aggressive or tense since there were no physical threats yet, but his tail was raised and he held himself as high as possible.
Another sniff made him realize that the hybrid--werewolf--he'd run into earlier was either here or had just left. There was no mistaking that strange combination of human and wolf scent.
Kiba took on his human disguise, scoffing. "He won't be much trouble. He'll defend himself, but he won't come close to fighting."

"Hmm. That does smell weird," Tsume remarked. "If you really want to avoid a fight, Kiba, you should probably howl."
Kiba glanced at him, slightly confused. "Why? We're already here."
"Yeah, but you might as well warn him so he doesn't think you're ambushing him," Tsume told him in a matter-of-fact tone. "Are you serious, Kiba? You have no idea why--right. Your first pack never got to teach you. All right, let me do it."
"Sure..." Kiba didn't doubt Tsume's advice, but since he'd lost his pack as a pup, he'd never learned the territory-based knowledge that other wolves had.
Tsume dropped his disguise, stretching for a moment before giving a long, bass-like howl similar to Kiba's customary "alpha" howl.
"There, we're all set. Anyone less than three miles off can't say we didn't warn 'em."

Helen followed the conversation between the wolves. This was a theme she could not converse about. Being raised as the princess of Sparta, in a palace filled with servants and lifeguards, she had never learned how to fight. She would be of no use in a fight herself. She only knew how to take care of the wounded fighters after the battle, like most woman of the higher classes did in her own time...
In spite of the howling, she still felt someone looking at her, someone that didn't want her harm. Helen lifted her head and gazed in the direction she felt the someone was hidden. What she saw, was something purple, that quickly disappeared behind a tree. But it was still there.

Moonshade had been in the Waterfalls of Ered Lúin, bathing all day. She had not met any orcs, and felt lucky about that. She was an innocent, quiet and shy little elf teenage girl. Most of her life she had been surrounded by her loving parents. As the only child of the family, she knew nothing but love and kindness. She did not know the evil ways of the world, and was pure of heart.
Her ways of traveling, was walking quietly through the forest, and hiding when she met someone other than her friends among the animals.
She had been walking through the forest for a while, when she noticed a woman dressed in white. The woman was no elf, she looked human. She was accompanied by two large wolves, one white and one grey.
Moonshade quickly hid behind the trees, watching them carefully. She did not want any confrontation if she could avoid it. She was very shy of strangers. She hoped her purple dress wouldn't been seen from the place they were standing.
Her violet eyes eyes widened when she saw the white wolf changed shape into a rather handsome man, standing in front of the young woman. He seemed to be the leader of the group, and the young woman looked like she was in love with him, but didn't dare to tell him. Moonshade had never been in love herself. She was still young enough to think that all boys were jerks. She stroke her dark curls away from her forehead, and continued to watch the group.
The grey wolf said something to the man, and the man changed back into a white wolf. The grey wolf started howling. The woman in white leaned back against a tree and watched the landscape. For a moment her gaze fell upon Moonshade, and Moonshade gasped in fear of being detected, and hid behind a tree. With her heart pounding, she leaned against the tree trunk and peeked out from the other side of the tree, shyly. Had the woman seen her? Or the wolves?

((Actually, Tsume was the one howling.))
Kiba's head turned as movement caught his eye--someone had arrived while Tsume was howling. As with half the beings in this world, the only things he could discern from her scent were that the person was female and non-human.
"Tsume, stay with Helen," he ordered irritably as he headed over to where she was trying to hide. The stranger was revealed as a small, dark-haired being who was currently crouching behind a tree.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, careful not to sound too irritated or aggressive, since the girl was already nervous--if he was too intense, he would probably terrify her into running.

Moonshade gasped when she noticed she had been spotted. The white wolf said something to the grey wolf and came towards her, while the grey wolf stayed with the lady in white. Moonshade quickly crouched behind a tree, hoping she wouldn't get noticed. Then she heard a voice asking what she was doing here, and understood that she was discovered. She stood up, with her back against the tree. The wolf was larger than any wolf she had ever seen before. And quite intimidating. She tried to back, but was pressed up against the tree and could get no further. Her violet eyes looked up at him, and maybe there was a faint trace of fear in them when she replied. Her voice was trembling as much as her tiny body. "B-bathing...." At least she had been bathing. Now she was on her way back home to the Elven village. ((This is what Moonshade is wearing right now))

((Is she able to see through Kiba's disguise? If my wolves are talking like normal people, it means they're in human form.))
He decided that now was not the time to drop his disguise, as the girl was frightened enough--his human form was quite tall, but revealing himself as a wolf would probably add to her fear.
"Do you know if there's a place we can stay? We're... looking for someone and we've only got enough food for a few more days," Kiba explained.
