He offered her a on the bed while he sat in the chair.
"An assistant. You could help me, fetching things, sending out communications, the like. I understand if you wouldn't want such a menial job, of course. You're free to turn me down."

*Dewshine sat gently down on the bed and looked up at him with a smile.*
"This is a better job offer than I was expecting. I had thought I would end up washing dishes or sweep floors. I like your offer better. I accept."

"Excellent"
He was genuinely happy, but then, straightened the features of his face to convey seriousness.
"There is one thing I feel I must tell you, however. Dewshine, I have grown quite fond of you. I want you to know I will act professionally and not act on these feelings, but you do have a right to know. I promise you there are no alterior motives in my hiring you. And I still expect you to come to me if you... or your child... need any help at all."

*Dewshine blushed deeply and looked down at her hands. She didn't dare to look at him.*
"I- I had no idea you felt like that, monsieur. I am sorry. I have been afraid of men since the rape. I have nothing against you personally. You have always been kind to me, and I am grateful for all that you have done for me."
*She smiled sadly.*
"You deserve a better girl than me. I am flattered, but I am not capable of feeling anything. The mere thought of touching a man fills me with panic."

Sadness filled Walter's face, but he tried to hide it.
"I understand completely, ma'am. The job still stands if you want it, knowing what you do."
He sighed and spoke under his breath, "Perhaps some day..."

*Dewshine looked up at him. She felt sad for hurting him like that, but it was better to be honest from the start, than misleading him with lies. Somehow she thought that would hurt him even more.*
"I am so sorry, Monsieur Dornez. You have done so much for me. I am grateful, but I can't lie to you. I have to stay true to my heart. And we have just met. Maybe, when you learn to know me better, you will start hating me too, just as much as I hate myself."

((Dewshine is so emo )) "I'm sure that will never come to pass, hating you seems so unlikely. Truly you are remarkable, a beautiful person inside and out, and should your heart ever change, I will be waiting." He sighed. "For now, shall we get to work." Most of his earlier pep was gone, as he decided to act curt towards her, and was careful not to be overly friendly.

((She is a girl, she's pregnant and she has just been proposed to by a man she would have liked if she had been capable of feeling. OF COURSE SHE'S EMO!!! ;D ))
*Dewshine brightened up like a sunrise, and her beautiful, bright blue eyes glittered like sapphires once more. And once more she smiled that radiant smile.*
"What kind of work should we do first?"
*She asked in her light voice.*

Her returning smile brought a pain with it, a pain of knowing she was untouchable. Still, he decided to soldier through.
"Well, for now, I'm going to finally unpack my bags. If you like, you can rest. You've had a tough couple of days."

*Dewshine looked up at him and laughed.* "But I just woke up! I'm well rested and awake, and ready for adventure!!!" ((In case you wonder: No, she has no idea what he will put in these words ))

Walter perked a bit.
"Adventure you say? Well, I suppose we could have an adventure. Shall we journey to the opera house? I have much to do there. Otherwise, I'd be happy to accompany you wherever you want to go."

*Dewshine brightened up again, like a sunrise. Her golden hair was shining like a halo in the sun.*
"The Opera house? Oh yes! I would love to."
*She looked down at her dress.*
"Wait a minute! I have to change into something I can wear in an opera!"
*She ran back to her room.*

Walter took the chance to change into some new clothes of his own. He had been wearing the same suit for 3 days now. He dug through the bags and found a suitable outfit and changed before stepping into the hallway and rapping on Dewshine's door.

*Dewshine had changed her clothes remarkably fast. She was now dressed in a glittering white gown, like the one Cinderella used for ball in the Disney version. Her golden curls were arranged in a very advanced hairdo, and she was wearing diamond jewels around her neck. The only thing missing was a pair of glass slippers.*

((What on earth is this crazy woman trying to do to Walter?))
Walter was stunned. The conversation they had just a short time ago was almost lost in his mind.
"My dear, you look..." He was lost, his mind wandering.
