((XD I already told you that she likes him. She doesn't want him to be ashamed of her at the opera house))
*She looked up at him with her radiant smile, her bright blue eyes glittering like sapphires, and her curls shining like gold.*
"Hey, nice suit. And the tie looks perfect!"

((Oh, so she's just a horrible tease then, eh?))
"Thank you" He adjusted his tie again for good measure.
"Shall we?" By sheer instinct, he offered his arm to her.

((Horrible is the word Just kidding. She just need time to learn how to feel again.)) *Dewshine bowed her head graciously and took his arm, trying not to shudder.*

******LATER*****
Walter awoke in his bed. Everything that happened to him seemed like it had been a dream. He wasn't even in any pain. The last thing he remembered was Dewshine trying to help him back to the hotel. She was right, she was a brave soul. He cared more deeply for her at that moment than he ever had before. The bed was right next to the wall their rooms shared, so he sat up, made sure he was decent, and gave a light, gentle rap on the wall.

*There was a gentle knock at the door, and Dewshine entered. She was carrying a tray of freshly made breakfast for him. She placed the tray carefully on the table next to the bed.*
"Bonjour, Monsieur Dornez." *She said cheerful.* "Have you slept well tonight?"

He took the tray and ate graciously, though he didn't have much of an appetite.
"I assume I slept well. I'm not entirely sure yet, to tell you the truth, I seem to be in a kind of haze."
He smiled at her, "And you can call me Walter."

*Dewshine smiled and went over to the window. She pulled the curtains aside and opened the windows to let in some fresh air. The sun shone in through the window and fell on her golden curls, making them shine. Her bright blue eyes reflected the sunlight and glittered like sapphires. She turned her head to Walter as he spoke to her, and her soft, pink lips parted in a radiant smile, flashing her shiny, white teeth.*
"I am glad to see you are better, Monsieur Walter Dornez. I almost had to carry you back to the hotel yesterday. Luckily, my wolf was not far away."
((Background information: The Wolf-riders in ElfQuest are using wolves as horses. The wolves are completely tame, when handled by a wolf-rider.))

Walter smiled.
"Just Walter, no need to be formal with me, dear."
Her smile was radiant. He felt and urge to press his own lips to hers, but restrained himself. He was frustrated that he found it so hard to focus on the task at hand. Perhaps it would be best to separate himself from this girl. No, he decided. That would not do. He felt he needed her. She had saved his life, after all.
"Thank you so much for the breakfast. It was delicious.

*Dewshine smiled and removed the tray.*
"I am glad you liked it, my lord. I made it myself. If you'll excuse me, I need to leave now. I have some business to take care of, with my wolf."
*She walked quietly out of the room.*

Walter still felt a bit tired, but left shortly after reading a chapter from his book. He, too, needed to get some work done.

******A FEW HOURS LATER*******
*Dewshine returned to her room. She was carrying a lot of shopping bags. She placed them in her cabin without opening them. They could come in handy later. Exhausted after a day of shopping, she started making a lovely dinner in her miniature kitchen.*

((Walter is still gone, so if she wanted to talk, and realizes he's not there, she could always leave a note . Oh, and feel really bad because he's awesome and how dare he not be there! Just kidding about that part.))

*Dewshine finished her dinner and washed the dishes. When she noticed Monsieur Dornez still wasn't back, she shrugged. He was a grown man and could take care of himself. She took a shower, put on her nightgown and crawled to bed to get some rest.*

Walter returned later that evening. Past midnight, to be sure. Once the Diablo was dispatched, he felt the cellars were a bit safer, and he had spent a good deal of the evening just mapping them out. He was tired, and changed into some silken pajamas before laying in bed. For once, he wasn't going to sleep fully clothed, he thought.
What didn't cross his mind is that he hadn't thought of Dewshine all day.
