*Wild smiled up at him and huggled him.*
"Oh, I don't mind kitchen works. I like to cook. And I know a lot about herbs and plants and how to use them in medicine. So I won't mind some time in the kitchen. It's just the dishwashing I hate."

*He nodded.*
"All right."
*He peeked his head around the mouth of the alley, trying to see those men.*
"I don't see them. Perhaps we should be getting back?"

*Wild peeked too. She got a bad feeling, but didn't want to scare Father Joseph. Trying to hide her worry, she forced a smile.*
"Maybe we should. I need you to show me where to work."

"Sounds like a good plan."
*He smiled and gestured that she might wish to go ahead of him.*

*Lady Éowyn of Rohan was out at the Marketplace, looking for some new materials to make a dress. She was feeling the quality of the fabrics.
The sun shone down at her long blonde hair, making it shine like gold, and her bright blue eyes were sparkling. She was dressed in a long white gown. Since she wasn't really expecting anything bad to happen in a marketplace, her sword was back at the hotel room. This was only a short trip to the market.*

*Xerxes' henchmen made a sweep through the marketplace, grabbing maidens who caught their eyes, Eowyn being among them. The girls were herded together, into a cart, to a ship bound for Persia, and their destinies in King Xerxes' harem.*

Éowyn had tried to resist when the henchmen grabbed her, but without her sword, she didn't have a chance. Soon she found herself in a cart, with other young girls. The other girls were sobbing, afraid of what would become of them. Éowyn stood silent in the wagon, her back straight, looking back at the marketplace which became smaller and smaller the further away the wagon went. She wondered if Faramir would understand what had happened to her.

**NEW DAY**
Elven food was all very well--much better than that, in fact--but Kirk couldn't help but miss a few good old-fashioned hearty human foodstuffs. Since he was unlikely to find pot roast and potatoes and, frankly, American cheese in Paris, his excuse was pretty flimsy, but as lovely as Lorien was he'd felt the need to get out. Be among people again.

This was the same reason that the unique young woman was here as well, though the reasoning behind it differed rather wildly. Iji was pretty sure that she must, somehow, be in Paris, and while she had no idea how she could have been transported that far, she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Staring around her as if to reassure herself it was all real and not some sort of trick, she wandered through the marketplace, her rifle at her side.

She obviously wasn't from around here.
That much was obvious. And there was an aspect of Kirk that was always moved by those out of place. And this woman seemed... sad. Watchful. Disbelieving. He'd seen a lot over the years, and he knew the signs. She needed help.
He approached gently, but without stealth. "You look lost," he said when he was within earshot, smiling gently and unthreateningly. Kirk's face was always open, always displayed his emotion, and despite his reputation he was capable of just being kind.

She wasn't, not in any sense of the word. Iji had begun to doubt that she even had any place on a normal Earth, considering what she'd had to see and do--and not do, for that matter.
Seeing someone approach, the young woman turned warily, her eyes wide and cautious. It took a few moments for her to register what he said fully, because it was so unbelievably casual. After the threat of planetary annihilation, it was kind of hard to think of things as being "normal".
"Well...yes," she admitted, as it was clearly obvious, and sighed. "That must have taken us farther than we thought. Where...where are we?"

Kirk took in her eyes, the gun, her manner, and his brow lowered slightly in compassion.
"Paris, France," he said. "Earth," he continued. "The 19th century."

In response, her grip on the gun (which, incidentally, she held in one hand) relaxed, and she sighed, not sure if this was true after all. Maybe they were all insane, or maybe this was even the truth: anything seemed possible now.
Turning, she shot a glance over her shoulder at empty space, then nodded. "I...don't suppose, then, that you've recently encountered any major alien invasions?"
