*Wild looked up at him innocently.*
"But there WAS a policeman here at the Marketplace." *She replied in her light voice.*
"As soon as he saw the men he turned around and started walking in the opposite direction. Didn't you see him?"

*Joseph looked confused.*
"No, I didn't."
*He blinked.*
"Wild, what are you trying to say?"

*Wild looked up at him, with a concerned look in her beautiful, dark eyes.*
"The police are afraid of Black and Enforcer, Anna's two tormentors. I'm afraid I will have to fight them off on my own."

*Joseph frowned.*
"Surely there is at least one officer in all of Paris who is not afraid to stand up to evil men."

*Wild grinned broadly.*
"Yeah, the Foreign Legion. Where scumbags like Black and Enforcer join to fight in wars. Just for the sheer joy of killing."

"Huh?"
*Now Joseph was terribly confused. Legion? He'd never heard of that. This whole situation was quickly getting out of hand.*
"I mean police officers, that protect and serve. Ones that put people in jail for crimes."

*Wild smiled and patted his hand in a friendly manner.*
"You poor innocent man, you obviously don't know the legal system as well as I do. Listen, they are big tough bullies as long as they can harass someone smaller and more afraid than themselves. If they meet big strong bullies who fights back, they run off like scared little rabbits."

*Joseph couldn't believe that. He just couldn't. But he also knew that he could not convince her otherwise.*
"Ok, Wild. Then what are you suggesting we do?"

*Wild looked innocently up at him.*
"You ARE aware that you are talking to a Dark Elf, are you not? I am called a Dark Elf because I possess Black Magic, and because I have an excellent eyesight and hearing, that only grows sharper in the night. Let ME help you protecting your church."

*Joseph paled.*
"You...want to protect the Church...the house of God...with your Black Arts?"

*Wild looked mildly up at him.*
"Look Father, I'm no saint. I've never been and never will be. But I've never broken a promise. And I promised you already when you saved me from the orphanage that I would never use my black magic in front of you again."

*Joseph wasn't sure what she was saying.*
"So if it's in the dark and I'm not there and it's to protect the Church, it's acceptable then?"

*Wild looked up at Father Joseph in disbelief.*
"Didn't you listen to one word I was saying? I PROMISED you not to use my magic. I have my fighting skills, and my knife. And my pride in protecting those I love and believe in. And because you are looking like my father, I love you like I loved my father."

Pride is one of the deadly sins...
*Joseph pushed the thought away as quickly as it had come. He nodded slightly.*
"Very well, do what you must."

*Wild nodded, her head was already filled with plans to secure the church.*
"I need you to show me around the church. I need to see every entrance, window and mouse hole where they might try to get in. I will try to find a way to secure them. And for your own safety: There should be only one main entrance left open. Lock the others. But if you have another door out of your office, keep it unlocked, as a way to escape should you be in danger. I will walk around in the church and keep watch day and night."
