He looked down "I've done things, that I'm not so proud of Sarah."

If you only knew what I've done as a suethor...
"Jay...it can't be as bad as that."

He released her slowly and looked down at the ground "I guess I should tell you then."
And he began.
Covering all Basis from where he got his money, to the army to... to Daisy.

*Sarah blinked at him. Well, from her view, it wasn't that bad, not really. Actually kind of tame as compared to some of the things she'd heard her own contemporaries do, back in her own world.*
"Would you believe me if I told you that's not the worst I've ever heard?"

He looked down at the ground with a soft smile "Most would have told me I was a rotten scoundrel with no respect for the law and an obsession with a woman who had moved on."

*The mention of obsession made her think of Erik, and she almost told him that what he'd done wasn't half as bad as the Phantom...but she didn't know how much he was aware of when it came to the opera house*
"I'll be perfectly frank--I think Prohibition was an extremely stupid idea. And I probably would have broken those rules, too."
*She fell into a thoughtful pause*
"It's true, you should have left Daisy alone, but...I can sort of understand the part about how you missed her. One break-up haunted me for years and years."

Jay smiled "Tell me you're not the only one that thinks this way" he reached for her hands "because it would ease my mind greatly if it were true."

*She gave his hands a squeeze*
"No, I'm not. Where I come from...things are a bit different."

"What a glorious place it must be" he replied softly.

"Welll..."
*She gave a shrug*
"It's got it's ups and downs like anywhere else, but I do miss it sometimes."

"We all miss our home I think" he said thinking of America "but it will pass."
He hoped.

*In truth, she hadn't dwelt too long on just how far away Florida 2008 really was from her. She knew that if she did, she'd start to cry. As much as she'd used to joke with family and friends that she could move to Las Vegas, the simple truth was that she didn't want anywhere else besides her hometown. That she couldn't go back, couldn't see any of it again, would probably always be with her as an ache in her heart.
She suddenly realized what she was feeling probably showed in her face. She quickly put on a smile*
"Yes."

Jay furrowed his brow, reached up and touched her face "It will get better" his eyes met hers and he wanted to look away in embarrassment, but he didn't he just kept, on, staring.

*She nodded, trying to reassure him more than herself*
"Oh, don't worry. I get these bouts of melancholy, but they go away." She said with a half-smile.
