*Wild took a piece of paper out of her pocket and read it quietly to herself before putting it back. She looked thoughtful for a moment, her eyes distant.*
"I think we should say the best places." *She finally replied.* "My list contains 7 of the most rare herbs and plants in The Land of The Shadows. They are located in 7 different places throughout the land. But to start with the nearest: On the top of that mountain....."
*She pointed to a mountain in the north north-east, so tall that it's top couldn't be seen.*
"...is the home of the Edelweiss. It doesn't grow in Lorien at all. And rarely in this country. It will be a long climb. The orcs will have fun bothering us. And on the top of the mountain are big eagles. They build their nests there."

*Kirk grinned.*
"It sounds like fun," *he said, gazing at the top of the mountain. He caught Figwit's serious expression. The man was as jocular as a Vulcan.* "You remind me of someone," *he said. He winked at Wild.*
"Is he always so serious?"

*Wild frowned. She hated when men winked at her.*
"How the hell should I know? I'm not with him always!"
*She started walking, throwing a comment over her shoulder in a somewhat mocking tone.*
"Are you two going to spend the night admiring the view or what?"

*Kirk blinked at her.*
"Maybe I should have asked the same about her," *he mumbled to himself. Figwit stared at him, clearly not getting any humor from any of this. Figwit nodded towards the path and both men started after Wild.*

*Wild ran through the landscape, fast as the wind. The fresh night air chilled down her burning cheeks. She felt somewhat bad for running away like this, but with her temper, she needed to be alone for a while.*
"That nasty creep!" *She mumbled* "How dare he wink at me as if I am one of these stupid little geese at the court!"
*With the speed she was holding, it didn't take her long to reach the foot of the mountain. She looked up, trying to find the best way to climb up. She noticed that the first ledge was about 10 feet above them. Too high for her to reach. She sighed and sat down to wait for the men.*

*Figwit easily kept up with Wild, but he'd forgotten that Kirk was human. When he realized it, he doubled back and bowed in apology.*
"Forgive us, Captain Kirk. Neither of us is, I think, used to humans."
"I'm just sorry I'm lacking," *Kirk puffed good-naturedly.
Figwit shook his head.*
"Not at all. All races have gifts. It was insensitive of us to rush ahead; we must all get there together, after all."
*Figwit fell into a comfortable pace beside Kirk. It hardly used any energy for him to go this slow, but he did not mind. It was only slow relatively. Kirk was by no means infirm. When they reached Wild, Figwit shot her a glance, as if to admonish her from separating from the group.*

*Wild threw her long climbing rope against a tree that was growing at the ledge. She managed to fasten the rope around the tree, and pulled the rope to make sure it was safe to climb. When she heard the two men arrive she turned around and faced them calmly.*
"Now, there you are. What took you so long? Popped in for donuts anywhere?"
*Without waiting for an answer she started climbing, determined to show these to bunches of testosterone that she could take care of herself.*

*Figwit didn't know what donuts were, but he motioned for Kirk to stay behind before he skimmed up behind Wild.*
"I must speak with you, Wild," *he said firmly but without malice, lower than Kirk could hear.* "If there is trouble between you and the captain, I must know it. We cannot form a team if we are at odds. Must he be sent back?"

*Wild sighed and looked up at Figwit before she replied low in Elvish.*
"My parents and my brother were killed by trolls when I was 11 years old. I am the only survivor from my village. I was found by humans who sent me to the worst orphanage in Paris. The adults there molested the orphan girls. I have always been a fighter, so I avoided getting raped. But I had to block all my emotions to survive, and I still hate men!"
*She looked over at Captain Kirk, and then back at Figwit.*
"He winked at me. I hate when men tries to flirt with me. It brings back the nightmares from the orphanage. I don't want to be alone with him."

*Figwit sighed.*
"I am sorry for your pain and loss," *he said.* "That is indeed tragic. But I have no doubt that Captain Kirk meant no harm. Nor do most men. If he can refrain from 'flirting' with you, then can you agree to remain together, as a team? We cannot survive alone, especially if we are running off in anger."

*Wild thought about it for a moment.*
"Something tells me that he loves women. I am a virgin, and I intend to remain so. But OK. I agree to stay with the group if you promise to keep him the hell away from me. If he starts acting like a jerk, I will run off again. "

*Figwit blinked.*
"The man is a military captain of an important vessel," *he said.* "I hardly think he plans to have his way with you unconsenting in the middle of a mission. But I will speak with him."

*Wild looked at him while she clenched her teeth.*
"I seriously doubt that has ever stopped him from getting what he wants. All men are the same. But I appreciate your effort."
*She fastened the rope around her waist, made sure it was fastened well enough, and climbed up to the first ledge.*

*Kirk watched Figwit shimmy back down to the ground, waiting with hands on hips. The woman was clearly upset, but Kirk couldn't think why.*
"I apologize for Wild," *Figwit began, but Kirk shook his head. Figwit, not interested in deception or sugar coating, told Kirk what she'd said.* "She fears men, and finds your flirtatiousness to be... jerk-like."
*Kirk frowned.* "That wasn't my intent," *he said.* "Does she honestly think I'd... I'm charming, Figwit, not a rapist. It's harmless! I get my share of women, but it's all on my own merits. I've never forced a girl!"
*Figwit laid a calming hand on the man's shoulder.*
"I believe you. But Wild has been hurt, and cannot. She says you winked at her."
*Kirk chuckled.*
"Fine. No more winking." *He raised his hands.* "We're good, here. If she'll come down, I'll apologize."

*Wild was looking up at the next ledge. It was very high up. She threw her rope up in the air, fastening it to a big rock. Then she started climbing. But the side of the mountain was slippery here, and her feet slipped away under her. She gasped as she lost her balance and fell against the ground.*
