*Figwit stood under the great mellorn tree at dusk, coiling a length of rope before tucking it under his cloak. He wore sturdy, silent boots and his clothing was of the kind which kept one mostly camouflaged in the forest, shifting in various patterns of silver, green and brown.
He looked up at the sky through the yellow leaves, and hoped he would return soon.*

*Wild walked quietly through her forest, excited by the thought of going on adventure. Even if she had to travel with two men. The thought of seeing her old country again made her smile.
To avoid getting stuck in trees and bushes, she was dressed in men's clothing. In fact, they looked like the ones Figwit was wearing. And also she wore sturdy, silent boots. She was traveling light, but had brought her weapon just in case.
She smiled and nodded to Figwit.*
"This is a wonderful morning." *She whispered.*

*Kirk walked up, not as silently as the elves but with considerable care for a large man. He, too, was dressed like them, as the yellow uniform pointed him out too much. It felt like old times; Figwit, even, was somewhat like Spock in his taciturn stoicism.*
"Welcome," *he said, relishing the adventure already. This was truly his element. Figwit strove because it was right; Kirk because he enjoyed it.*

*Wild looked around. She was studying the forest around them, thinking of where it would be best to cross the borders. She didn't want to run into the devil people yet. And she knew there were other dangers in her old country. Trolls, goblins, orcs, and hostile Dark Elves. She clenched her trusty pocket knife. It made her feel safer. She looked questioning at Figwit, expecting him to take the lead, showing them the best place to cross the borders.*

*Figwit quietly surveyed his small team. Everyone looked ready and sharp. They would have to be.*
"Very well," *he said quietly, though his air of command was unmistakable.* "I have studied the map, and unless Wild thinks my calculations erroneous, I believe I should enter from the north northwest corner. It is rocky, but should be shielded from view."

*Wild smiled softly. She was proud of her relative. Even though he was so young, he was already a natural born leader. She knew Leetah would be proud of her son if she could see him now.*
"Your choice is wise, Figwit."
*She replied quietly, not to disturb the animal life around them.*
"The north northwest corner is the best way to enter. The only life there are some wolves and some orcs. But believe me, there are far worse things to run into."

*Figwit nodded.*
"I trust you to speak up whenever there is need, Wild. I'm only the nominal leader of this group, because without leadership there is chaos. But we all have strengths. I hope we share them openly."

*Wild smiled.*
"I promise to speak up when there is need. I am well aware that you both are stronger than me, physically. My strength is the knowledge I have as a born inhabitant of The Land of Shadows, and my skills as a shaman of Black Magic. My strength is spiritual. But still I hope I can be useful in a fight. I have always taken care of myself."
*She turned to the third member of the group.*
"And you, Captain Kirk, what is your strength?"

*Kirk smiled.*
"Other than my irresistible charm that seems to work on men and women? There's my quick thinking and my Starfleet-approved combat style. I'm also very moral and loyal to my ship and crew."

*Wild smiled back, but it was a polite smile rather than heartily. She was still a virgin, and she intended to remain so. And this man seemed to love women. The word love made her cringe.*
"Well, I am sure that will come in handy."
*She replied and turned to Figwit.*
"And you, Figwit? What is your strength?"

*Figwit had not exactly through concretely about this.*
"Purpose," *he said quietly.* "Seriousness of character."

*Wild nodded thoughtfully, as if she had expected an answer like that from him. After all, he was a serious man, not one to fool around. She was glad he was on this expedition too. Somehow she felt she wouldn't like to be alone with Captain Kirk. It felt... unsafe. Wild shook her head and looked at Figwit.*
"We should start moving. It won't do us any good to be hanging at the cliff side in northeast when the sun is up. There will be orcs everywhere. I'll unlock the magic protection around Lorien long enough to let us through."
*She started walking toward the border. There she stopped, put her tiny hands against the border walls and spoke some words in Elvish. A big hole opened in the wall, and Wild turned against the men.*
"Hurry up. The hole won't be there forever."

*Figwit led, and Kirk followed. Both of them wanted to chivalrously "hold the door" for Wild, but knew it was not possible.
They emerged into a deeper night than that they left, the noises around them strange and unfamiliar.*

*Wild walked through the hole in the wall. When she came out on the other side, she turned around and said some words in Elvish. The hole disappeared, and the wall looked like it had never had a hole in it.
Wild walked quietly over to the men. For some strange reason she felt safer in their company. She looked around. The area was rocky, yes, but her sharp eyes quickly noticed some almost invisible paths. One path led to a black mountain in the north, one path led to the rocky area in north northwest and one path led to the forest in the east. She pointed out the paths for the men.*
"The path to the north leads to an area from which nobody has ever returned. It is said that it leads to the Inner Realms of Hell. The path to north northwest is the one you chose for us, Figwit. It will lead us to another mountain area. We will have to climb. The path to the east lead to the Black Forest where THEY have set up camp."

"I think we can all handle climbing," *Figwit said. Kirk nodded.* "Where is the best place to find these herbs?"
