*He sighed hollowly, his eyes fixed on the grounds below.*
"Malefica...has it ever occurred to you why it is that you find it difficult to comfort people?"

*Malefica looked back at him, her eyes sad.*
"Icarus always said I sucked at love. That might have something to do with it. Or maybe that I have spent most of my childhood and youth alone, isolated from other people and never gotten any chance to bond to them. When I notice how bad my people skills are, I am almost glad I soon will die and get it over with."

*Dracula turned back to face her, calmer for having something else to focus on.*
"I cannot believe that one like yourself would ever be glad to die." *He studied her, pursing his lips briefly.*
"Though I do not know if you wish to improve your situation, or if you have already given up."

*Malefica looked up at him and smiled a bit, with the dark sense of humor that had kept her up in her dark hours.*
"A little bit of both, I suppose. Though I am not glad to die and leaving you behind. I never wished to put you through something like this."

*Dracula shook his head, lifting his hand dismissively.*
"I will deal with this, I always do. You are not the first bride I have lost." *He was quiet only a moment before continuing.*
"Though I think you will find it difficult to try to improve and give up at the same time. It leads me to believe that there is more of the latter."

*Malefica looked up at her husband.*
"It is hard to try to improve when I know that I will die from an unknown disease in a very close future. I only know that I have to try to survive as long as I can, to find a solution to my problems. I can't just fade away and leave the problems unsolved."

*Dracula's lips tightened in passing.*
"Then there is nothing else I can do for you." *He said frankly.*

*Malefica looked over at Dracula, tired to death, but not showing it.*
"Well then," *she sighed.* "Tell me how I can improve, the last time I have left to live."

*Dracula face softened slightly.*
"You do not have to indulge me. You have other things to concern yourself with in the time that remains. You do not need to worry about catering to my foolish whims."

*Malefica looked up at him, her eyes softened.*
"But I want to cater to you. I am your wife, and believe it or not - I love you. I don't care what other people say about you. To me, you are the most wonderful man in the world, and I am lucky to be your wife."

"That is not in question." *Dracula answered sincerely.*
"I merely know that you have other obligations. They should be seen too first."

*Malefica looked sadly up at him.*
"My other obligations seem to be a lost cause at the moment. Now I only want to take care of you for the time I have left. If you still want me, that is. Did you know that Greek wives spoil their husbands when they love them as much as I love you? I have not had time to spoil you yet, but I will."

*Dracula sighed. He could argue, but what was the point.*
"Then please...make the potion."

*Malefica smiled and looked up at him.*
"I will, my love. Thank you for giving me a chance to prove what I can. You can come to my work room and watch me work, if you like. So you can make a potion later, if you need it."

*Dracula shook his head slowly.*
"No, I think perhaps I should rest. It has been a very trying night."
