*During the rehearsal party- the last night before her mother's wedding to James, Pina had been absolutely miserable, of course. Not only were there far too many people, but that Emmy person had been fawning over Richard the whole time. So, when she noticed him slipping out of the party, she'd naturally followed.
She found him on the beach and wordlessly sat in the sand next to him, folding her legs underneath her carefully.*

"I'd never been to one. I don't think I like them either."

*She shrugged, and began to idly play with the sand- picking up handfuls and letting it flow through her fingers.*

*She nodded.*
"I could hardly sleep last night it was so loud," *she said, still fidgeting with the sand.*

"She would have been so upset if they'd have to put it off..."

"So she and your father... I never knew that he... well, that he had anyone like that."

"I think it mostly started when he... well, she wished him a new face. I don't really know how that happened, but he got, well, you know. Pretty," *she said, with only a hint of envy in her voice.*

"I see."
The moon peeked out from under a cloud, illuminating her face in spite of the veil.
"You don't look too terribly like him. I mean, like he did before."
