She wasn't moving. Whenever he looked in the woman's direction, she was still there.
He narrowed his eyes, trying to see her more clearly. He knew her face, but-
Oh God.
He suddenly began coughing rather heavily.

I always have to be the grown-up...
*Eleanor motioned to a servant to bring some water. She spoke to Steerpike quietly*
"Are you feeling well? I can handle this, if you want."

"I understand your position, and your loyalty to your husband. Still, you should also concider the wellbeing of your people, like Tearbird used to do."
*She looked calmly at her.*
"The only thing you are risking here is a war. And the best shamans of Lorien will fight against you, with all the magic powers they can provide. You are also risking to let the hidden threat be turned loose, when there are no elfs to protect you against them anymore. Do you know their intentions? They will destroy the earth. Forever. Starting with Lorien, since the shamans here are the worst threat against them."

"We are not belittling this threat. The people of Lorien are our foremost concern. That is why we wish to protect the ruler they democratically elected."
*Some of the courtiers seemed beginning to be won over to her side*
"Can you or Leetah offer us any guarantee that her entry will be one of peace?"

"Let's- let's take this outside," he groaned, looking up with an expression of self-ashamed and carefully suppressed horror.

*Wild looked at him and smiled innocently.*
"Is everything well, mylord?"
*She asked.*
Or is your conscience beginning to get back at you?

"My husband has been under some strain, as you can imagine."
*She let him lean against her*
"Would you please answer my question?"

"I'll be going back to my room for a moment."

Not as much strain as Queen Tearbird was when he killed her for no reason. His past is creeping up on him now. And with my help, it will continue to do so. Leetah's child is my relative, and deserves my protection.
*She looked Eleanor in the eyes.*
"My cousin has never harmed anyone that hasn't deserved it. You should be glad she is still a patriot and will defend her country. And do not awake her wrath. Even as a White Magician she is still powerful enough to do you harm."

*The crowd had grown tense, but seemed a bit relieved that the Queen was the one currently handling things*
"You put me in a difficult position. I wish her no harm, you may believe me. But you threaten me if I refuse, and if I agree the same threat stands."
*She sat back down*
"Could you arrange a meeting for me with her?"

*Wild thought about it for a moment.*
"It could be arranged. But not in Lorien of course. Don't want my cousin to risk her life coming here. Name a place in the human world where you would like to meet her. And show up alone."

"The battleground where she and I first met. I will go- I am less important to the nation than my husband."

*Wild looked at her, studying her face and her soul.*
"I would not agree with you on the last thing you said. But I'll arrange the meeting."
*She turned around and left.*

*She sighed and shook her head as Wild left. Individuals with their petitions came up to her, and she dealt with them as best she could.*
You know, I'm not bad at this sort of thing.
