"Nothing," *he said in a falsely cheerful voice, trying to smile.* "Genghis isn't into dudes, which shouldn't surprise me, but I like guys who like girls and I'm a guy." *His eye twitched, slightly.*

*Kris sat opposite and propped her chin on her hands.*
"So you want a straight guy," *she said.* "Who likes, er, catching. Sounds like a problem."

*Sarah did a double-take at Emile, before it finally hit her who it was. She'd never actually met him...er, yes, him...when he was Emily.*
"Kind of cute..." she muttered under her breath.

"Yeah," *he sighed. The hair on the back of his neck rose slightly as he realized Anne Hathaway was staring at him.*
My Dad thinks Anne Hathaway is cute. And it's true, she is. I mean, I'd fangirl my Jane Austen character if it wouldn't be Barbiesmashing in the highest degree, but it's not quite Jane Austen, but she is cute, but...that can't BE Hathaway, can it? I mean--oh! Sarah!
*He gave her a small, sheepish smile and a slight nod, reddening before turning back to Kris.*
"That or a girl who looks like a dude. Or a girl who is, like, hot to the power of ten. Enough to make me switch teams...or at least let my head catch up with my anatomy."

"Well, Alex tries to look like a dude. And I know she's had it off with Rochester, she's not, you know, infallibly girl-on-girl oriented. Otherwise... I guess it depends on what sort of girl you'd switch teams for."
*She paused.*
"Anne Hathaway?"

*'Anne Hathaway' was, currently, distracted by a can of Mountain Dew that she'd manifested in her hand and was now guzzling*

"What? No, I--um--" *his voice rose to a distinctly girlish pitch in its panic.*

*Kris reached out and patted Emile's hand.*
"Sorry. I just saw you looking. Sorry."
*She raised an eyebrow, as if to ask... if not her, then who?*

*Emile squinted at her, then leaned over and kissed her lightly for a moment before drawing back and rubbing at his lips with the back of his hand.*
"Thorry. Wath worth a twy."

*Kris blushed, both because of the kiss and because it hadn't seemed to work.*
"Why are you talking funny?"

*Now Kris' face drained of color, leaving her pasty and even more android-like.*
"Oh my god. I'm sorry! That's never happened before. And... er, no. I haven't."

*Emile chuckled and tweaked Kris' nose.*
"It'th my fault for twyin' to thlip you thome tongue in the hopeth that thomething might work, for me."
((I'm boarding the Sleepy Train, guys. See you tomorrow.))

*Was something wrong? Was she broken? Could she not kiss anyone anymore? Kris' robot face was crestfallen.*
"But you should be able to," *she said forlornly.* "I'm sorry. I must be faulty or something. Can I get you, I don't know, a drink?"

*Emile reached out and stroked Kris' cheek.*
"Hey now," *he said with a soft smile.* "Shouldn't I be buying you one? You look like your best friend just 404'd."
