*Figwit blinked.*
"Yes," *he said.* "I suppose so... I'd rather have been here, in Lorien. But it hasn't been so bad."

*Wild raised her beautifully shaped eyebrow in a sarcastic way and snorted.*
"You haven't missed anything. The humans are making complete fools of themselves. Steerpike is slowly turned into madness, imagining to see ghosts anywhere. Or more precisely: one ghost, Queen Tearbird's. That sly pie-baker wife of his, is slowly adjusting to the society life, with the noble way to speak and behave. But behind locked doors, it is back to the low-class dialect of hers. I know, because Nessa overheard them and reported directly to me."

*Figwit frowned. That sounded like a guilty conscience, on Steerpike's part.*
"And he has revealed that it is Queen Tearbird who haunts him? That is unwise of him. As to the lady... I suppose it is only natural that she should want to blend in with the society in which she finds herself."

*Wild looked at him, seriously now.*
"Nessa was doing some laundry in the castle when she overheard a very interesting conversation. It seems that Steerpike was the one that murdered the Queen. And that the human lady knew about the murders, but did nothing to prevent it from happening. But I suggest you talk to Nessa about it. She was the one who overheard them talking."

"So he's admitted it?" *Figwit said, aghast.* "And nothing's been done?"

*Leetah looked sadly at him.*
"The problem is that he hasn't admitted it in public. Only behind locked doors, to that snake-woman of his. And Nessa, our only witness, was earsdropping on the conversation. If they even knew she had been there, they would have killed her. I am absolutely sure about that."
*Leetah leaned back for a while, closing her eyes for a moment.*
"I will go and see an old friend of mine and hear her view of this. She is a witch, but gentle of heart. Part goddess, part devil, and the Guardian of the Holy Grail. Her name is Malefica. She was the one who brought you in safety on the night you was born. She is eager to see you again. Will you come with me?"

*Figwit raised an eyebrow in interest.*
"Of course. I would be honored to thank the woman who saw me to safety."

*Leetah smiled and embraced him proudly.*
"She will be so glad to see you! You have become a very handsome young man. I am so proud!"
*She brought him towards the door, as the other elves left.*
"You can talk to Nessa later, about the details of the conversation. But now, I suggest we meet Malefica. She has a daughter I'd like you to meet. Her name is Eden. They live at Mondego Mansion."
((To Mondego Mansion??))

*Figwit smiled in thanks.*
"Thank you, Mother. I look forward to meeting all of your friends."
*He bowed to Haldir and Wild.*
"It is an honor to meet both of you. I hope we shall have the opportunity to talk later about these matters."

*Haldir and Wild smiled back*
"We are always there for you when you need us. After all, we are your family."
*They left, and Leetah placed her hand on her son's arm.*
"Are you ready to go, my son? The horses are waiting."
((Leetah brought in some horses she bought in the human world. Hope that's ok with you))

**NEW DAY**
*Figwit carried Wild to the only place he knew she would get care. He hoped Leetah would be home, and that her skill in the healing arts was better than his. At the very least, he hoped for herbs and materials.*

*Wild was still unconscious, her pulse almost non-existent, and her heart had almost stopped beating. If she was still breathing, it was very weak.
Leetah was nowhere to be seen, but a basket with freshly picked herbs and flowers was standing on the table.*

*Figwit sighed, and set to work. He had learned much, growing up--he was nearly fifty years old, after all--but he had seldom had to apply his skill under such circumstances. He tended to her injuries and brewed a tea that would, hopefully, help revive her.*

*Wild slowly woke up to an inferno of pain. But it seemed like someone took care of her wounds. She tried to open her eyes, but her eyesight was a bit blurry, because of her headache.*
"Oh, my head! Must have been quite a party going on!"
*She tried to joke.*

"No party at all," *Figwit said, devoid of humor.* "I only barely got you away in time. I'm sorry I was not faster."
*He was relieved she was conscious, and speaking, however. It meant the worst was over.*
