*Mohinder didn't like the idea of staying at a motel; it brought back unpleasant memories *and pleasant ones* whispered a treacherous voice. Nevertheless, having found himself stranded here, cut off from his family (and Bob's funding) and with only pocket change in his wallet (which wasn't garuanteed to be worth anything in the 19th century) he really had no choice in the matter. So, here he was. The place seemed empty. He called out* "Hello? Is anyone there?" *and sat down to wait.

*Gentle snores filled the air*

Maria, just back from an excellent dinner, found the man asleep in one of the lounge chairs.
A customer!
Resisting the urge to shout happily, she went over and tapped him on the shoulder.

*Startled awake, Mohinder grabbed the offending hand and trapped it against the chair's arm, eyes wild. He let go when he realised who she was - or rather, who she wasn't.* "Oh, I'm so sorry. I forgot where I was for a moment. Are you the owner of this establishment?"

She nodded, eyeing him strangely. What an odd reaction...
"One of them, anyway. Are you looking for a room?"

"Yes, I am indeed. I am afraid, however, that I haven't much in the way of funding; I wasn't exactly prepared for this. I don't suppose you even take euros. Is there some way I could earn my keep?"

"Actually, Euros would be fine...you don't have to work for you stay."
Maria didn't add, that it might be dangerous if ran into the other patrons of the motel.

"Oh, thank god. How much, then? How long will, ah..." *he rifles through his pockets. As he does so, the concealed gun peeks out briefly* "fifty euros let me stay? I'm sure I'll find work soon. Perhaps I'll drive a taxi." *He smiles at the private joke*

The sight of the gun doesn't raise any eyebrows, though she does think on it--he's expecting to find trouble, or maybe that trouble will find him.
Maria grinned at his joke.
"Should give you a few days. We're not too expensive around here."

"Wonderful." He gives her the money. "Which room? It's been such a long day, I'm exausted."

"Oh, 12B, it's right this way..." She moved to lead the way, waiting to make sure he was following first .
