((Entirely.))
"I think," *Holmes said crisply,* "that you have very little say in the matter."

"I think otherwise."
*Edward yanked on Lillith's arm, pulling her closer to him.*

*She batted her eyelashes innocently at Holmes*
"Why does this always seem to happen when I go out?"

"Maybe it has something to do with your animalistic charms."
*He batted his eyelashes and growled sexily, pulling her ever closer to him at the same time.*

*The man was utterly foul. Holmes' first impression had been accurate.*
"Unhand her," *he said harshly, letting go of Irene to impose himself between them.* "You will not speak that way to a lady."

"Make me unhand her. And what makes you think she's a lady. My first impressions of her tell me otherwise."
*He shoved Holmes aside and grabbed Irene/Lillith again.*
"So, what do you want, darling? Me or him? The boring one or the one who can make all your dreams come true?"

*Holmes, with less breeding, would have rolled his eyes at the man's statement. Could any woman really go for this sort of crude language?*
"Rest assured, sir, if I must use force, I shall. And you will be the worse for it. As to the lady, she is of my acquaintance and she is unwell. And she will most decidedly not be accompanying you anywhere."

"Oh, really? I don't think so."
*He winked at Irene/Lillith once more before kicking Holmes in the shins and pulling her close to him.*
"I think I've decided it for you. What do you say we go elsewhere, away from this boring toff?"

((Now you've done it.)) *Holmes was taken by surprise, but it did not last long. He quickly recovered into a fighting stance.* "I warn you, I am practiced in the art of baritsu." *He feinted left, then punched Hyde in the face with a straight left.* "I am not unfamiliar with boxing, either."

((You know, I'm not sure I realy need to respond here. Neither man is really concerned with what 'Lillith' wants. Sexism makes RP-ing so much easier...))
*She grinned at both men*
"Come now, I think you can both do better than that. What's a night without a littl blood?"

((eah, well she can have fun standing around being the damsel in distress and watching the men fight over her.))
*Edward winced and rubbed the sore spot on his face, wondering what "baritsu" was. However, he knew what boxing was, and knew that couldn't possible be good for him. Well he could always try.*
"You bet some blood across his face would do him some good."
*Edward jammed his knee up Holmes' crotch and punched him in the face while he was distracted, dragging his fingernails across to bring the discussed blood.*

((You're going to blame sexism for Holmes considering what Irene wants? )) *Her words horrified him, but it was easier to focus on this lout. It wasn't Irene talking. He had to remember that. And in his distraction, he'd left an opening; his face bled now. Enraged, though still rational, he grasped Hyde in a wrestling hold designed to wear the man down with his own strength.*

((So true.))
*Edward struggled in the strong grip, flailing in vain at anywhere he could reach. He slowly felt his strength waning and redoubled his efforts to bring Holmes down. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting anywhere. Eventually he stopped fighting and stood still, panting.*
"I hope you're happy, because I'm sure not. But you never know. She might pick me over you. What would you do then, hm?"

"Most likely take her away until she saw reason," *Holmes said tightly, getting tired. Not that he'd admit such a thing.*
