I heard this was a good place...

Rinoa had known "time to spare" for some high-ranking officers actually meant "time to do anything I want, until I decide it's time to go back and do actual work," but only upon Haldir's reminder of rank had she recalled his lengthy introduction. (The 'unsafe for young ladies' remark had gone right over her head as she was used to hearing that, and mainly used it herself sometimes just to have people accompany her places.)
Why do the people I meet seem to always be in the military? Rinoa wondered. Back home it made sense, since her father always had friends and colleagues coming over, and her dealings with the SeeD mercenaries were much the same thing, but it struck her as odd that the first person she met was the leader of an army himself.
Well, at least it meant she wouldn't be completely alone in an unfamiliar city. So Rinoa returned Brandi's polite smile, thanked the innkeeper for her hospitality, and then clapped her hands together eagerly as she turned to Haldir.
"Right--I forgot about the whole leader thing. That's awesome! So, now that I'm checked in and you can stay with me for as long as you want, Fearless Leader, let's go have an adventure!" Rinoa took his arm and started to pull him after her, knowing full well that the type of gentleman Haldir was could not possibly refuse a woman as short, young, and presumably helpless as herself. After all, Squall hadn't either.
Trying to ignore the concern that hit her with the last thought nearly caused Rinoa to let go, but she smiled even though neither of the others could see it and renewed her grasp. "I'll be back around dinner!" she called.
