That makes two of us, *Holmes thought. Not that he'd admit to it.*
"Well. For the meantime, you must stay with me so I can study you."

*Moriarty frowned, but then nodded*
"So I will be a shadow."

*Holmes flinching inwardly at the prospect.*
"Unless I can find a way of switching you off, I suppose that's true."

"Off? I do not 'switch off', any more than you do, sir."

*Holmes frowned in confusion.*
"Most mechanical devices have a non-powered function. Even biological organisms require rest."

"I've 'searched my mind', as it were, and I find no knowledge of off switches. I have also yet to 'fall asleep'."

"Really?" *Holmes was more excited than he wished by that prospect.* "What about fuel?"

"Consumption of foodstuffs? I've never had to do that before. I've simply gone on and on."
*Now that the subject had been brought up, James DID wonder if he could eat actual food.*

((You know, I've realized that there's only one way this can end.
"Forget it, Sherlock, it's Chinatown."))

((I lol at Faye Dunaway every time. You know the scene. With the slapping.))
*Holmes crossed his arms. Now that was just... unfair.*
"Fascinating. You're some sort of mechanical marvel, that much is certain."

"Hopefully, mention of needing sustenance won't suddenly have me require food in one of those quirky turns that seem to plague humans."

*There was something most unsettling about this thing. It set Holmes on edge; its relentless humanness. As opposed to humanity, he supposed.*
"Well. Your feeble attempts at humor aside, we should go; I have rooms, and I insist that you accompany me."
((That said, I can't remember where Holmes lives. Any idea where you want to go with this, btw?))

*James gave Holmes a light shrug*
"I haven't completely grasped the concept of humor, it seems. But yes, we should go--we are taking up space in a place that is not supposed to be for public gathering and socializing."
((I honestly don't know what to do with this--at some point we need a Kris/Moriarty plot that looks like Data/Lore...though I don't know how to orchestrate that))

*Holmes snorted.*
"Indeed. How polite of you."
*He motioned down the corridor, indicating James should precede him.*
"Let us go, then."
