The shape in his arms looked disturbingly limp.
Basini didn't even moan, dark curls plastered to his forehead with sweat. Hospitals meant getting adults involved -- László didn't count, or the stranger -- and that meant more questions. He would have wished he was dead anyway.

An npc over-worked nurse finally appeared, and taking one look at Basini started shouting orders to the other nurses in the infirmary. With László's help, Basini was situated in a hospital bed, and the nurses wheeled him away from his helper and immediately set to working on his injury.
László hung back, hands jammed into his pockets, waiting--it was all he could do, really. He worried: having had experience with vampires before, Basini could be in any sort of state at the moment, and it could very well be not just physical harm.
Finally, the nurses finished up, leaving a bandaged and dose with painkiller Basini tucked into clean white linens. László approached him quietly, not sure if the boy was even awake and not wanting to disturb him if he was out.

There was no immediate fuss to locate a parent or guardian -- there wasn't a little paper tag clipped to his coat or anything with his name and return-to address, and it wouldn't have done a lick of good. The best that could be done was to fix him up neatly and lay him up in bed, hoping he (or László) would be able to explain where he'd come from.
Once safely laid up in bed, the painkillers more or less ensured he'd be, if not dead out, then doped up to the eyes. But he was still half-awake, eyes half-open, staring at nothing under his eyelashes.

"Hey," László said softly.
"You all there?"

Very softly, there came a reply of "... mhmm."

László had to stop himself from asking Basini how he was doing--it was plain to see that the boy was doped up.
"You gave me a scare, back there."

One hazel eye opened a little bigger, the pupil shot large.
"I'm sorry..."

"No, don't be." He said quickly.
"The only one in the wrong is the one who hurt you."

"I don't know who..."
He coughed, but it might have started as a laugh.

"Could be anything." He said.
Anything, yes, considering that Basini's attacker had been a vampire, something that László was unfortunately familiar with. Twice-over.

"That's not so bad."

"I know what this is like. Been through this situation twice, already."

He blinked back.
"What?"

"That sucks," he slurred, apparently one aspect of the modern vernacular he had picked up in a jiff.
