*Philippe lead his new bride into his home and gestured for her to sit down on a settee.*
Can I get you anything to eat or drink?

*She shrugged lightly.* "Tea, perhaps?" *she picked at invisible dust on her skirt, suddenly feeling awkward.*

((... See why is this always so weird with Giry?...))
*Philippe went out of the room and returned shortly with a tray of tea and a small cake with a candle in it. He looked at it and then grinned at her.*
Wedding cake, forgive my staff.

((A candle? It's not a birthday! And I know, I'm the common thread in the awkwardness.))
*Madame Giry laughed shortly, shaking her head with a smile.* "How sweet of them."

*Philippe not looking at the card sighs and turns to his wife.* Forgive me a moment and I'll see who this is.*He gestures for the maid to collect whoever is waiting.*

Percy entered the room quietly and looked directly at Phillippe.
"Monsieur," he said softly.

*Vianne stood as the gentleman entered.* "Shall I leave you to your business?" *she asked quietly.*

Percy glanced at his wife. Something was deeply amiss.
"Forgive me, madame," he said quietly, "but I shall not keep your husband long."
If his voice trembled, no one heard it.

*Vianne nodded shortly before turning and leaving the room, giving a pitying but comforting smile to the gentlemen before retiring. She found the library and wandered amongst the shelves, selecting the odd volume and leafing through it.* I hope nothing is wrong...that poor man looked rather distraught about something... *She thought of the Vicomte and a frown passed over her features.* Yet more trouble that boy has probably caused.

Percy quietly entered the library and bowed.
"My lady," he said. "Monsieur le Comte had to attend to something for a moment."

"I see," *she said quietly, a look of concern darkening her face.* "Is it..." *she hesitated.* "Forgive me if I pry, but is your business at all connected with the Vicomte? I know well enough that he has caused trouble in the past..."

Percy stared at her for a few moments.
"Begads, madame, no," he said gently. "My business is to do with concern over someone that your...that the Comte and I are both well-acquainted with."
