*Marc looked at him for a while.*
"Unfortunately I have no underlings so far. Not here in Paris anyway. And my enemies are too powerful before I get stronger. Is there some other way....?"

*He smiled slightly*
"I'm sure you can come up with something, and I don't need to know your...methods."

*Marc smiled evilly.*
"Oh, I'll think of something. You just wait and see."
*His voice was calm and quiet, with a chilly air in it.*

"I will. I imagine I don't have to tell you this, but it's better to choose someone unlikley to become problematic."

*Marc looked at Dr. Crane with a glimpse of steel in his eyes.*
"Do you have any suggestions?"

"I'd suggest someone, male or female, who would be easy to control, either physically or mentally."

*Marc thought for a moment, then an evil smile came to his face.*
"Let me take care of that. A short flight over the roofs of Paris will lead me to someone useful. Where do you want me to place our guinea pig?"

"I have an office in the infirmiry."
*He smiled strangely*
"I find your reliance on me a bit surprising. What happened to the master of the night?"

*If he still had any blood in his body, he would have blushed.*
"I did something I never should have done, and got the biggest shock of my life. I'd rather not talk about it. But I would be greatful if you could help me get my strength back."

*His eyes were almost mocking, though not quite*
"It must kill you to admit that. To rely on a human. Quite honestly, I think your time has passed- the supernatural no longer holds the sway of science. And that is where you wish me to come in."
*He shrugged*
"It doesn't really matter. I'll do what I can."

*Marc chuckled with laughter.*
"It is a bit too late to kill me, my friend. I am already dead. But I am thinking new ways here, something no vampire before me have done."
*He grinned evilly.*
"Have you ever thought of how much terror that can be spread if we combine the supernatural and the science - the two things people of this time period seem to fear the most?"

***NEW DAY, OLD JOB***
*Valerie felt a strange kind of peace as she shelved books. This was where she had always truly belonged. She felt a pang of loss for the sheer power of having been a Slayer, but she hadn't cared for the weight of the responsibility it had given her.*

"Indeed." *He may have been a different Dracula, but some things never changed. no matter what his criminal sidelines were, Crane still had enough of a psychiatrist in him to recognize the basic similarity between the vampires.* "But you don't plan for random acts of terror. And if it was simply the elimination of enemies, you would not bother with this formality. You want something else. Or someone."

*Marc Warren Dracula smiled evilly. He was thinking of the young woman he had met on the street. He wanted her. But something stopped him from telling it to this man. In stead he said.*
"I want the same thing as all other men. World power. Women. Wealth. Turning order into chaos. And on the side, torture Irene in her dreams."

"Irene? You too?"
*He laughed*
"I never saw the appeal of someone already hunted by roughly the entire population, but that's your concern. As for the chaos, feel free to spread it as you please, with the exception of a woman named Sylvia Gallo, who, if you so much as touch, will cause me to make you wish you could die."
*He gathered up his papers*
"The other Dracula wanted her, you see. And some things don't change."
