"A great many things make me smile, yourself being first among them," *she said, taking his hand in hers and holding it to her cheek.*
((Sappier than the sugar maple grove.))

((*squees* This is better than a romance movie, because we're writing it. I am SUCH a girl.))
Percy smiled and pressed his lips to her hand. Then he broke all decorum, bent over her small frame, and kissed her.

((Small??? Only compared to you, you...Brobdingnagian!))
*Vianne's breath caught in her throat as Percy took her lips in a crushing kiss, trapping her masterfully in his arms of steel. Her arms slid around his neck to draw herself closer as she felt her knees turn to shifting sand beneath her. She ran the tips of her slim, elegant fingers through his golden hair and gave a small moan of delight before she flushed a dark crimson at her unladylike behaviour and stuttered an apology against Percy's mouth.*

((Vianne's TINY compared to Percy. But then, so is everyone else. Oh hush, let him kiss her.))
Percy tightened his arms around her to drown out any sort of apology Vianne would make. He knew his love was completely unaccustomed to such behavior.
Pulling away, his eyes twinkled down at her.
"In England, it is most unfashionable to be in love with one's fiancee" he said, smiling at her.

*Vianne smiled when she saw he was not offended by her.* "In France, the fashion is whatever we say it is," *she offered in return with a rather cheeky grin.*

Percy smiled at her.
"Then for now, we shall simply have to remain in France."
((Uh, should Percy be asking questions about Meg? Where is she, anyway? Who plays her?))

((My daughter's a bit of a non-entity at this point. No idea who plays her, and in any case, she's what, sixteen? and pretty much takes care of herself.))
"I am glad," *murmured Vianne.* "Despite..." everything "...it is my homeland, though I would happily make my home wherever you were, of course."

((Okay. Just checking. I was trying to read that thing you call an opera. My head hurts.))
"No," Percy said, "for now, we shall remain in France."

((I know, isn't it awful? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Like the most complicated fairytale in existance.)) "But what of...of the wedding? Have you not friends and family in England who would wish to attend? I have no one here, so do not remain for my sake--perhaps it would be easier to go to England." *Vianne tilted her head, a small frown of concentration creasing her brow as she pondered over the matter.*

((Too lazy to sign in and out. You know me.))
Percy smiled.
"Nay, dear heart, all those I wish to be here will be here. The League and the Prince are the only ones I wish here, and we have certainly made the trip before."
His eyes danced.

"The...Prince?" *said Vianne on a slightly hysterical note. Somewhere she vaguely recalled being told that he was friends with the Prince of Wales, but as with the news of his wealth, she had not quite believed him at the time.*

Percy gently held her.
"He is an old and much beloved friend. I promise you, he does not stand on ceremony in the company of companions," he said softly. Or anywhere at all.

"Very well," *said Vianne, feeling her anxiety dissolving with Percy's warm comfort.*
((Wait, this is the Prince Regent that hits on everything with breasts? Crap.))

((Unfortunately, yes. It's okay though. He won't touch Vianne. This is the Prince who's father is King George I of England.))

((Well yeah, I got the Prince Regent thing. I'm just a bit worried--I mean, he was pretty openly hitting on Margot after she was married. Not that Vianne knows that.))
