*Both brows lifted.*
"Sir, I am not to be party to something I know not the purpose in. Speak plainly or my mood might change. What is it that you want of me?"

"I cannot divulge plans which I have not yet made," *Richard retorted.* "But in sum, I seek the throne of England for myself. Which requires that my brother's crown passes to me. You are clever, and yet possess the wiles of a woman. From you I might learn much of the motivations of others, as well as benefit from any gossip or rumor you might overhear in your more innocent capacities around the place. I would request your observations of such events as might concern me. Is that plain enough, or must I make crude marks in the dirt at our feet?"

*Beatrice's face grew cold.*
"So you would seek me as an accomplice in treason, sir? What crime has your brother committed that would have you thinking I would agree to such a thing? You have expounded on my goodness, and yet you seek to defile my charity in such schemes?"

*Richard rose and limped away a few paces, not turning.*
"As in all things, Madame, you make yourself quite clear. The world has thought ill of me from the hour of my misbegotten life's beginning. It is no surprise that you find me wanting now. You only confirm the wickedness I have long known to blacken this heart. I take my leave of you, madame, for it is the only thing I can ever expect you to give freely."
*Finally he faced her and bowed as much as his balance would allow, before making his encumbered exit.*

*Beatrice felt flustered. She hadn't meant to upset him. She had meant to be generous. But what he was saying, what he suggested...it was treason. How could he ask such a thing? She frowned but could help but take a few steps after him as he left. Eventually reason got the better of her and she let him go, but there was something inside her that perplexed her greatly. She sat for a long time on that bench in thought.*

***NEW DAY***
*Brandi led Kris down to the garden to get some air. And away from Holmes/Not Moriarty weirdness. She smiled at her.*
"Sorry about that. I think that if we'd stayed, things would have only gotten worse, you know?"

*Kris nodded, a little shaken.*
"So... Moriarty's a robot."
*She looked to Brandi for confirmation.*
"And he knows me. Somehow."

*Brandi's brow furrowed.*
"You don't think...I mean, please don't take this the wrong way, but...you don't think you were made by the same person, do you?"

*Kris cringed a little at the words, but she wasn't about to take her robot!angst out on Brandi.*
"I don't know. I mean, I don't remember being 'made' or anything. I don't know him."
*She crossed her arms.*
"And I'm way less... less... stupid."

*Brandi gave a 'well, duh' look.*
"Well, obviously. I just hope he doesn't go all Lore, you know?"
*She squeezed her hand gently.*
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."

*Kris shrugged and tried to relax her posture.*
"No, it's cool. I mean, it's not like it's not true or anything."
*She sighed.*
"I can't figure out if I'm a way better or way worse robot than Data. Eww, but I hope that Moriarty guy isn't my brother."

*Brandi hugged her warmly.*
"Well, I think you're way better, but I may be biased and all. But you also had the disadvantage of not knowing."

*She frowned.*
"I'm not as smart as him. And I can't do things really really fast."
*She paused.*
"Wait. What if I just don't know I can do cool stuff?"

*Brandi gave a wry grin.*
"I guess you don't know if you don't try."
*She quirked a brow.*
"Do you want to?"
