*Richard glanced between Beatrice and the new man. Her look told all, and he turned his glare on Sebastian.*
"Is this the fiend who frightened you, milady?"

*Beatrice stumbled back a few steps, but couldn't force her gaze to Richard. She nodded slowly, lips parted.*
"He...he begged of me to leave him. If only..."
*All the color had fled her face.*

*Richard maneuvered in order to stand between them, his hand on the hilt of his sword.*
"If you have come to harm this good lady, you must go through me," *he said.*

*Beatrice watched as Richard stood between them. She felt faint. She wanted to protest, but couldn't find the words. Her heart softened slightly towards her defender, although she knew not why. Must be the feeling faint.*

*Sebastian sighed. He had forgotten how trivial and dense mortals were. If he had wanted to hurt the woman he would have done so already. He was simply interested, a desire to keep his minds away from the dark abyss of his memories driving him to act rash.*
"I have come to harm no one."
*He said to the supposed to be dead man.*
"I came to see if the lady was alright. I know that my existence is quite frightening."
*His dark eyes looked up at Beatrice and if they could speak they would have been shouting 'I told you so' at her.*
"Which was why I warned you."

*He did not look demonic. But the Lady Beatrice had been in quite a state; and Richard's bets would be placed on her side.*
"That sounds like a threat, sir."

*Beatrice took a strange comfort in having Richard there. It helped her regain her confidence.*
"It was not your existence I found unnerving but the insistence that you were of the foulest pit. You gave heed to see that I was frightened and will not make light of my state now that you have succeeded. Be gone with you! Get you to whatever hole you slithered up from."

"I am sorry if I upset you, Beatrice. I have been evil for a long time, to change those ways takes a lot of strength, which I did not have when you found me."
*A small shadow of guilt fell over his face for a moment, but then was driven away by an sad grin.*
"There is little chance of me slithering back to Hell. I may only return once I have killed a mortal, which I do not intend to do."
*Sebastian looked at Richard, his interest peeked by the fact that he should not exist in this time and should, in fact, be quit dead.*

*Beatrice's eyes flashed.*
"And what now? You'd sully my ear with honeyed words that you might snatch my soul away? I think not, sir. You have shown yourself for your true colors and I will not be easily swayed to the deception of your hope of redemption."

"With such boasted credentials, sirrah, you give one little hope that you will keep your word," *Richard said.*

*Sebastian rolled his eyes.*
"To swipe a soul away is a task not given to just a demon. Even the Devil herself has trouble with simply whisking them away. So it is quit save in that trivial body of yours."
*Why was he even trying this? Explaining how he worked, how Things worked? Talking to these people when they did not believe in his attempt of goodness?*
You can make them disappear and find some new humans to try and be nice to. It isn't that hard.
*Sebastian silently cursed himself for thinking this. And then his eyes turned to Richard.*
"You dare speak to me of credentials, sir?"

*Richard did not blink.*
"You plight your troth with evil, sir, and in your next breath forswear it. What is a mere mortal to make of such claims?"

"A mortal who has done nothing but evil in his lifetime to gain that which he desired can perhaps not see how an evil thing can try to be good and thus can make nothing of my claim."
*Sebastian replied annoyed and slightly angered. He looked back to Beatrice.*
"But perhaps one who is good, though unpleasant a times, can ...."
*Sebastian stopped mid sentence. Something felt different, odd ... familiar. His whole body stiffened and Sebastian turned to face the opera building.*
"No, it can't be."

*Richard blinked.*
"Perhaps he could not, but as I am not he that you describe, I fail to see..."
*He watched Sebastian's mood alter.*
"What?"

*His heart started to race and his blood pulsed hotly in his veins. Sebastian glanced back to Beatrice and Richard, his face as white as a sheet of paper.*
"I'm ..... sorry."
*He disappeared in a cloud of black smoke.*
