((Alfred <3))
It was almost as though he'd been reading Alfred's mind, or maybe the other way around. In any case, it was as though simply thinking about how he worried Alfred had been enough to summon him.
"Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault that I'm...a wreck." Well, that was an understatement, wasn't it?
"I'm sorry for putting you in this position, Alfred. I never wanted to worry you. And..."
Well, if he were to be honest, being shut away like this had been playing games with his own mind. Days blending together, getting tunnel vision.
"I'll get out of the house. I promise."

((^_^))
Alfred chocked back the tears that always threatened these days and nodded.
He pushed the trolly next to his desk and took his shoulder with a grip that defied his age "I hear the Flying Graysons are an act that simply has to be seen to be believed."

The tears in Alfred's eyes made him feel like a jerk. And should feel like one, shouldn't he? He hadn't exactly been acting like a normal human being for some time now. He reached up and gave Alfred's hand a comforting squeeze.
"Sounds good. I don't think I've been to a circus in ages."

Alfred squeezed again, before finally releasing Bruce's shoulder, patting it lovingly.
"Good" he headed to the door "is there, anything else I can do for you sir?"
He loved Bruce as if he was his own son and raised him the best he could. But there was always that darkness he could never calm, Alfred only hoped he could shed a little light on it before it fully engulfed him.

"I think...I'll dine outside."
He hadn't done anything outside beyond being Batman in a long time, and if he wanted to show that he was at least trying to make an effort, then it was best if he started now.

"Very good sir" as Alfred rounded the corner to the patio where he was sure Bruce would be eating, he wiped a small tear from the corner of his eye.
What a day it had been.

Bruce started to head outside, realized that he was still dressed like a hermit, and instead headed toward his room. He needed a wardrobe change that didn't have a cape in it .
