Aideen sat back and watched carefully as her son rolled around on a blanket on the grass. She moved her arm slowly, it was broken, but the doctor said she'd be fine. She was covered in scratches and scrapes, but those would disappear eventually.
Sighing she grimaced, it hurt to breathe, but it all would be fine, she was just happy that she managed to stop whatever the hell it was that the man had planned on doing.
Reaching her good arm out she tickled her sons belly "What are you doin Edur, hrm? What are you doing?"
The baby giggled and nibbled on her finger.

It was then that several snowflakes drifted gently past Aideen's arm. In the distance, a cloaked figure materialized in the sudden flurry of white material. A pair of cold blue eyes peered out from underneath a hood and watched the mother and her child at play but not without a certain sort of envy.

Rubbing her sons forehead she looked down at her arm
Snowflakes?
She frowned and looked up, the sky was obviously clear, no sign of snow, at least for a while, maybe she was just imagining things. Lifting up her broken arm to a more comfortable position she pulled a bottle out of her baby case and began making the formula using one hand. She was getting better at that.
Breathing in again she closed her eyes for a moment and began to hum a lullaby which brought a few more giggles from Edur.

Had circumstances been different, he would have called out to her. He would have ecstatically bellowed his son's name, so that all passersby would halt--with whatever it was that they were doing--and would turn to look at the joyful reunion of a man and his family. Had circumstances been different, they would have smiled and went on with their day's routine, merry.
But that was a lifetime ago.
Adrien--no, the Snow Prince--only gazed coolly at the two. After a brief inner conflict, he stepped forward towards them.

Suddenly in her making of the bottle, she looked down at Edur who had turned his tiny head to look at something, more intently any child his age should.
Aideen's head immediately shot up, brow furrowed and eyes burning, she said nothing to the approaching figure that was once her lover, but continued to stare as she made the formula.

"Been well, I presume?" he inquired with a slight lift of his brow.
He lowered his hood and slowed a few paces away from the two, staring.

"Sarcasm will not get you very far if you plan on having a civil conversation" Aideen replied as she lifted her son up on to her lap, the boy still quiet and staring.

"Ah, but pray tell, what gives you the assumption that I'm being sarcastic, my dear lady? Why, I've not been more serious in the entirety of my existence than the present time."
Still, he offered his former lover a slight sneer, his blue eyes continuing to roam from her hardened expression towards the figure of the motionless child.
"Strange child," he murmured to himself. Then, in a louder voice, he asked, "What is so fascinating that it's arrested his complete attention and energy? I mean, I do believe that he's seen his father before."

Aideen looked down at Edur and tickled his stomach, which caused him to giggle and look up at his mother, finally breaking his sight from Adrien.
"He might've seen you before, but it was fleeting, if you remember, and if you must know I've never been worse. But as you don't care-" she flipped her hand and began feeding her son.

A cold, hard silence drifted over all three of them, as Adrien's icy blue eyes swept over the slender fingers of her hand. A lifetime ago, he had held that hand as he'd caressed her, the both of them drowning in their love for one another. No more.
"...what makes you think I don't care?"

Aideen didn't respond for a moment, thinking it over, he did seem to show up more often as of late, he did seem interested. But when it came to matters of the heart, she could never be sure with the prince.
"Where were you when Edur was born? As you seem to know where we are all the time, where were you when I was attacked by a man who can control time? As you can see I barely made it out alive. If you cared, your excellency, you'd have been there."

"You were attacked?" the Snow Prince responded immediately, though his words carefully lacked any form of emotion. His eyes glittered, as he then seemed to entertain her own answer.
"By a man who controls time...fascinating..."

"It was until he left me in suspended animation for almost a day, I was able to get a few knocks in before then though, and by my count, I won his stupid game, he just pulled the ace card in the end." She growled a little bit causing Edur to stir, shhing him she adjusted her hold on him and continued to feed.
((I imagine their son would have inherited something from Adrien, I figure he got Aideen's control of emotion, but not the whole fire thing.))

"Does that explain that?" he inquired, gazing pointedly at the bruises and lacerations coloring her arm, all in various stages of healing.
((He could have inherited his impulsiveness. Or his ability to steal away souls.))
