"Edur..."
A sudden whirl of snow propelled the young child to his feet, and he tottered uneasily into his father's awaiting arms.
"I wonder whether he will grow up to be like me...heartless," he stated without the slightest hint of concern, as if he were discussing nothing more than the next day's weather. "I imagine that would break your heart, though."

"Well it'll be harder to deal with him as a teenager" she replied "you forget you have my heart, I could be just like you if I wanted to. But I've got emotions in my head" she pointed to her head and laughed "he might too."

"Huh. I was under the impression that emotions resided in the heart, my lady."

"Both" she replied "scientifically they're in the mind, that's why I was able to make you feel... the heart is where they congregate, and that's more of a... I don't really know how to put it. It's more of a faith thing, that's why I can't make you hold on to them, I'm able to allow myself to feel constantly because I have those powers, thanks to you."
She smiled and leaned forward and rubbed Edur's head who giggled and reached out for his father.

"I see," he exhaled. "But things aren't always as they seem, are they?"
His sharp blue eyes traced Edur's clumsy but endearing progress towards him. He extended a single hand and gently mussed the child's hair.

"Never."
Edur grabbed on to his fathers finger and wiggled it back and forth.

He looked up, after a relative period of silence.
"Will you still be holding residence here, then?"

"I still have my house, have a friend there keeping care of the gardens and such, but I can't just leave here, I mean, it is my job..." she still didn't feel comfortable in dropping everything for him, she'd done it so many times before and every time it turned out terrible.
But she knew she'd do it, she always did.

"Perhaps, I shall stay. A son's got to have a father, doesn't he?"
Something glinted in his eyes, as if, with a hardened resolve, he were reflecting on his own miserable past.

"Here? But what about your palace? This is no place for a prince..."

"Don't presume to know what precisely will befit a prince of my standing," he breathed. "Only I possess the authority to determine that." He smiled now. "I'm fairly certain something could be arranged. After all, my minions are never far from where I am."

The thought of minions made Aideen cringe slightly, but she didn't let it show. It was going to be hard actually knowing Adrian now, more-so it was going to be hard for either them to fully accept the others personality.
For a moment she thought that she'd let the holds she had on her emotions go, just so she could be exactly what he wanted. For a moment, she thought of letting go, but she knew she couldn't, no matter how hard she tried, to be anything other than herself.
"If that's what you want."

"It's not a matter of what I want--far from it. It's a matter of what I need. I'm obligated to raise this child, and I must fulfill that obligation."

"Right" Aideen nodded, not really knowing what to say.

"Of course I'm right," Adrien snarled.
He hastily composed himself, and muttered what seemed to be an apology. It took quite a bit of effort on his part, which was made apparent in his ever-darkening countenance and the quivering muscle of his jaw. He wondered how humans ever did it.
