"Indeed, I had a brief stint with the London police force."

*Lois couldn't help but beam.*
"Is there anything you haven't done?" *she said, laughing.*

"I have yet to dance with the queen, but I aim to take care of that soon."

"Maybe Bruce can arrange that for a birthday present or something," *she joked. He did have a ridiculous amount of connections, though.*

"Maybe you can ask him for me Ms. Lane, you seem to be growing quite close to him these days."
Alfred winked.
He did quite like Lois, she came with just as many issues as all of Bruce's ex's seem to come with. She was smart, funny and because yes, Alfred was a man, he could agree that she was quite good looking. But he still mourned Miss Jess, she had stuck around so much longer than the others, and she seemed to make Bruce happy.
He still believed she was alive somewhere, how does one fall from a roof and the body not be found? But he could never talk to Bruce about something like that, he knew Bruce had put a lot of time and money in to searching for Jess, and he didn't need to bring it up again.
Not with Lois here.
((I get to have him mourn her cause he's my character *sticks tongue out*))

((*Eyetick* He better be this upset when crap happens to Lois! XDDD))
*Lois turned and looked outside placidly.*
"He saved my life, Alfred, in more ways than I had thought."

((Of course he will! He loves the Lois:) ))
"He's good at that" Alfred chuckled "with or without the mask."

*It took her a moment to get back to her normal, snarky self.*
"Yeah, Messiah Complex," *she quipped.*

"You know he's even saved my old hide a couple of times" he smirked.

"What happened?" *she asked. She hadn't heard about this before...*

"Oh a couple years back, a man by the name of Ra's Al Ghul broke in to Wayne manor and kidnapped me as well as another person. He knew who Bruce was, and who was close to him. We were taken to some holding facility, the other person got the worst of it, but Bruce was there to save us soon enough."

"What happened to the... other person?" *she asked cautiously.
A nagging voice in her head kept telling her that whatever it was wasn't good and that she wasn't beyond it.*

"They made it out alive, but traumatized due to a toxin given to her by, Dr. Crane. Eventually a friend of Bruce's was able to make an antidote for the toxin. She, was fine for a while."
There it was again, the she, he sighed.

*Lois tensed. She knew what that toxin could do. She had felt it first-hand and she knew how painful it was mentally and even physically. And while the pronoun piqued her curiosity, just the thought of what Crane could have done made her nauseous to the point of speechlessness.*
"For a while?"
*Why was she still asking questions?*

"She stopped sleeping, going missing in the middle of the night, acting strangely. The poor dear was a mess, so Bruce offered to get her help, real help and they went to London... Miss Lane, I'm not sure I should be the one to tell you this story."
He sighed "Has Bruce ever said anything to you about this?"
