"I know for certain that I could" he laughed nervously before sighing and putting his head between his legs "I'm being absolutely childish."

László settled back down into his seat, and patted John's leg reassuringly.
"No, no. You come from somewhere where all of this isn't commonplace. Sure, yeah, there's stuff here and there, but a lot of it is still 19th century. You just gotta adjust."
He looked thoughtful.
"London's the same, too, although heard that it has a lot more modern stuff in it than Paris does. And...well. Dracheheim is all modern. So it's probably good that we're going to London first."
((Oh, I realized the other day that when I drew Sötétfällt's imaginary borders, that I accidentally stole Budapest from Hungary. Whoops.))

"A test run to see if I can take it" he laughed and looked up.

László grinned.
"Yeah, looks like it."
More passengers were coming into their area as they spoke--it was getting closer to boarding time.

John took a very deep breath and looked up at the ceiling.
It wasn't long before they were calling their gate number and having people line up. John gathered up their carry on bags and made sure Laszlo was in front of him. Not that he was gonna run, but because he had no idea what he was in for so he was just going to follow Laszlo wherever he went.

László's knowledge of airplane stuff pretty much ended here--having never actually been on one before, he didn't really know what they looked like on the inside. Once he was able to see in, he glanced back at John as the line moved forward.
"Er. I hope you aren't claustrophobic."

"That-" he looked down at the rows of seats and sighed "-I am glad to say is not one of my many hang ups."
They got to their seats near the middle of the plane where John calmly put their carry on's in the overhead compartment. He had the window seat and was less than thrilled about it, trading for the aisle seat with Laszlo.
He sat down and quickly fastened his seat belt.
((I know it's ridiculous but I find Johns technophobia really endearing XD))

László was entirely happy to sit by the window, and didn't protest one iota about switching with John.
"It'll be so cool to see France from far away. It'll get boring over the ocean, but until then..."
He glanced over at John.
"Don't feel bad. There's plenty of modern folks who don't like to fly."

"I can see why" he smiled and leaned back.
This was going to be an adventure.
He was worried about Hazel, since he adopted her she'd never been with out him. She was growing so fast and with the way Paris worked he was afraid she'd be in her 30's by the time they returned to Paris.

László somehow managed to sit still as the plane filled up, and finally completely settled down as they waited to get going. There wasn't a long wait, however, and as the plane started making it's way to the head of the runway, he was back to being excited again. He was glued to the window, watching the scenery pass by as the plane made it's way out.

John white knuckled and closed his eyes, opening them only as he felt the plane steady and the captain on the overhead speaker mention their height and flight time. He looked over as Laszlo and smiled, feeling slightly queasy but otherwise fine.
He avoided the window though.

The take-off was probably the most exhilarating thing he'd ever felt.
"Airplanes are so cool," László enthused. "And you know what? They're safer than trains or automobiles."
He was babbling. He didn't really care. This was amazing.

"I believe it" he replied, knowing nothing of the statistics for either.
Within minutes the lady with the tray came by and John ordered a glass of wine. He didn't always drink, but occasionally the situation called for it.

László got a can Coke for himself, then leaned over and once again gave John a reassuring squeeze.
"I don't know how the details work out for that, I just remember someone telling me about it.
I hope you have in mind where to go in London, 'cuz I'm gonna be following your lead."

"I spent a long time there, if it hasn't changed too much, we should be fine" he smiled and sipped the wine.
It was cheap but it would do.
