Continued from: So+far%2C+an+uneventful+night.Aideen smiled as she lead Miss Kitty inside. The place was full of all sorts of people, from lower class to men in top hats and suits. They were there for the show and the drink, not to war with each other. Pleasure was their only design. "I used to come here all the time, I had friends here, although a lot of them left after the place went to the bats."

Kitty was pleased, glancing around; so far, the class of the company she kept seemed to have gone up immensely. Clearly, nobody here would break out into a random ball.
She strove to look genteel as well, holding herself with a more dignified posture.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" she asked curiously, glancing over.

Aideen grabbed a booth and sat down "Exactly what I said is what I mean" she sighed lowering her voice "do you believe in vampires?"

Sitting down next to her, Kitty took pains not to sit on her own tail. That was a problem with human-designed furniture; it seldom had tail holes.
"I see," she replied, still a little confused. On hearing her next question, though, she looked even more surprised. "I..." she began, then spoke back more quietly. "I...I guess, a little, you know..."

On stage, Phoenix stepped out in tights and a short tuxedo jacket and top hat to announce the next act, a song about wine and women that had be repurposed for the vampire crowd. The Emcee was back, but they had yet to talk about when he'd take over again.

(( Zatana?)) Aideen raised her eyebrow at the stage and lowered her voice "Bloodsuckers, there everywhere."

**Probably a new night**
Roxanna had found herself coming to the club more and more these days. The women were easy, the booze was cheap, and her own oddities were hardly noticed in the crowd.
All the vampires...there was a time when she'd killed those types, horrific monsters like her father. Now she found herself drinking beside them.

Carmilla hauled herself halfway across the room - her Victorian fur wrap lost someplace, dammit, she was not quite pleased about this - and draped herself heavily over a seat, scarcely noticing the dark-haired smoothe-talker in the leather jacket on her left, nor the woman to her right, whose beauty was so alien as to almost be grotesque at a certain angle. She had, of course, done no more drinking than was usual for a vampire, but as it was, everyone she'd drunk from had been drunk, and Carmilla was enough the same to be very much wrapped up in her own mind.
She swooped forward on the bar, rapped her knuckles on it, and called for a brandy, her Austrian accent more pronounced than usual, to the point of being nearly incomprehensible to about half of the French population. Her hair had long since fallen out of the proper Victorian bun and fell over her bare shoulders, but it was hardly as though she cared. And she didn't think anyone in this place would. It offered a glorious kind of freedom she was not used to, but appreciated. There had never been such a gathering in her time for her kind. Although, at the same time, she rather understood why. Pompous, most of them. She did dislike them so.

Roxanna continued to nurse her drink, thinking about Maria. Lovely girl, someone she might have even been happy to settle down with...and she seemed straight as an arrow.
Only one thing for it- take her mid off Maria by indulging in another pickup. Sometimes she felt a bit too close to her father in this action, but unlike him, all hers had been willing, if often inexperienced and nervous. That sort wasn't what she needed tonight, though- it was going to take more than a virgin to ease her mind.
She glanced at the redhead at the bar, giving her a slight smile.

Carmilla noticed the blond she had had the fortune to saunter over to - however accidentally - and, still bent all over the bar, smiled up at her as though listening to faint strains of music in her mind, music other than that which was playing.
"I ordered a brandy, thank you," she said, bringing her hand flat down on the bar, and tapping it with her palm several times. Her accent was still rather pronounced. "Brandy is what I ordered. They have not just brought me my brandy." She lifted her eyebrows and gave a wide smile that transformed into a yawn.
Well, perhaps a brandy was a stupid thing. She needed sober blood to dilute the intoxicated blood, was what she needed. This vaguely occurred to her, but she instead glanced up at the woman rather more seriously and smiled again, more warmly. She did have remarkable bone structure. She seemed even more otherworldly than Carmilla, who, for all her paranormality, had not looked remotely faerylike when she'd been made, with a simple, fresh sort of good looks, even if that simplicity at times bordered on the elfin.

Roxanna briefly wondered if the woman was a vampire. Well, so what if she was? It wasn't as if those types posed much danger to her, what with the odd effects of her own mixed blood. And if she hadn't killed her father, the vampire most deserving of it, what was the point in slaying other ones?
"Slow service, I'll agree. They try and make up for it by having their waitresses act coy for tips."

"They do, don't they?" Her voice was still rather slurred, though took on tones of the musing. She traced her fingernail down one cheek. It was a bit long, though not in an ostentatious, cheap way, as one might have expected of a drunk young woman draped over the bar as Carmilla was. "Even with me they do and you know you can just never tell when they're serious, dreadful annoying thing that is..."
She tapped her fingernails back and forth along the countertop and peered down, licking her lips thoughtlessly. As was common with vampires, they were red without any paint. "Well, the girls get their tips, don't they? A little tip of something more than they expect..." Carmilla giggled and covered her mouth almost apologetically, though when she removed it more wicked laughter escaped her lips. She was referring to eyeteeth, of course, but it might have sounded like something rather vulgar and referring strictly to the male anatomy, not that this occurred to Carmilla. It rarely did, and when it did that was usually, for her, not cause for rejoicing.

"That's always a risk, isn't it?"
A risk she was willing to take. Crossing her legs so the slit in her skirt deepened and a pale flash of shik was shown, she leaned back in her chair to appraise the woman further. Toxanna had never been one for subtlety.
"And if a girl knows the risks, and ventures anyway?"

Carmilla took a while to notice, caught up in her subject as only drink could make her be.
She gestured with her hands in an elegant, if rather too-floppy way, as though weighing things of unequal weights in her hands. "But how would I know, oh, waitresses, you know, maybe she's being venturesome and maybe she's just being coy, and with them you have to assume the latter or people's hearts and sometimes necks get broken."
She looked momentarily moody, tucking her chin into her hand with a small pout as she considered the great annoyance of trying to tell sincerity from deceit with those kinds. Her eyes moved over to the other woman's then, and a certain something came into her mind. She pointed at her with one quivering fingertip, unable to hold it quite still.
"Venturesome or coy, then?"

Roxanna gave a slow smile, amused by the woman's intoxication. She wasn't quite impaired enough to make her feel guilty and turn away, but enough to make things a bit easier. That is, if neither one became too drunk to remember how things worked.
"I'm hardly coy, my dear."
